Renowned poets Liz Lochhead, Jackie Kay, John Glenday, Vicki Fever, Aonghas MacNeacail and Stewart Conn will headline the Poetry in the Persian Tent reading series this month to raise funds for Liz Lochhead and Jim Carruth's Old MacDonald Had a Farm for Africa Project, in association with Oxfam.

The Ruckus Theater has announced its fourth season in Chicago, following a successful year of performances at The Side Project Theatre in Chicago's Rogers Park neighborhood. Artistic Director Allison Shoemaker and Associate Artistic Director Joshua Davis released today a season of four new plays, and workshops, including two productions penned by Chicago playwright Scott T. Barsotti.

The Kennedy Center hosts its 11th annual Page-to-Stage new play festival from Saturday, September 1, 2012 to Monday, September 3, 2012, featuring more than 40 theaters from the D.C. metropolitan area, all with a mission to produce and support new work. The three-day, Center-wide event offers a series of free readings and open rehearsals of plays and musicals being developed by local, regional, and national playwrights, librettists, and composers.
