Nashville's divas proved their mettle and showed their immense talents in 2010 while assaying some of the most challenging and best loved roles in all of musical theater. Ranging from classic musical comedy heroines that any actress would love to play to newer, more contemporary characters, Music City's women were given the opportunity to showcase their multitude of talents on various stages while again proving they are capable of virtually anything - and everything. Here are our choices for the top ten musical performances by an actress in 2010...

Over a decade in the making, Tony Award recipient B.H. Barry's Treasure Island will set sail in Brooklyn this February. Based on the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, adapted for the stage by Vernon Morris and B.H. Barry, Treasure Island, which is also directed by Barry, will begin performances on February 15 and will open on Saturday, March 5 at Brooklyn's Irondale Center (85 South Oxford Street) and will run through Saturday, March 26, 2011. The Route 66 Theatre Company kicks off its 2010-2011 season with MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT, a new play by Scott T. Barsotti, directed by Damon Kiely. MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT features an all-star cast including Randy Steinmeyer, Kate Buddeke, Blair Robertson, Tyler Ross, Dane Halvorson and Danielle Brothers. MCMEEKIN FINDS OUT plays October 7 - November 14, 2010 in Richard Christiansen Theater, upstairs at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Ave. The press opening is Friday, October 15 at 8 pm.

Marti Pellow is set to join the cast of the UK Tour of Frank Wildhorn's Jekyll and Hyde. The tour begins at Bromley's Churchill Theatre Jan. 20-29, and moves to Abu Dhabi before launching an extensive U.K. tour.

Halloween Night at the Walt Disney Concert Hall features the classic 1920 silent film, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, starring John Barrymore in the dual role. The projection of the silent movie will be accompanied by a live soundtrack performed by organist Clark Wilson on Halloween, Sunday, October 31 at 7:30PM.
