Today, Artistic Director Robert Falls announces that his longtime associate, Producer Steve Scott, will direct Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, Christopher Durang's Tony Award-winning, 'deliriously funny, hilariously demented' Broadway hit, in Spring 2015 (dates TBA). A loving send-up of Chekhov's greatest works, Vanya makes its Chicago premiere in the Albert Theatre as part of the Subscription series in the theater's 90th Anniversary 'Season to Celebrate.' Chicago's most established resident theater presents a 90th anniversary "season to celebrate," a line-up of new and contemporary works on its two stages-the 856-seat Albert Theatre and 400-seat flexible Owen Theatre. To bring a second life to an undiscovered gem, Termination Productions LLC will present 'The Head Hunter,' a dramatic encounter between a screenwriter and his mobster cousin, at The Producers Club Theaters April 11 to May 4, 2014. The play is written by Mark Borkowski, a New York-based playwright, screenwriter and actor who is now best known for playing Paul Sagorsky in the third and fourth seasons of HBO's Boardwalk Empire. It is the first revival of a horrific yet hilarious two-hander that Backstage (Elias Stimac) labeled 'one of the best plays of 2000' when it debuted that year.

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced its 2014-2015 season today, which is set to include eight operas, a world premiere new opera, a one night only piano concert with internationally acclaimed pianist Lang Lang, and special family performances. Lyric's 2014-15 subscription season will offer 68 performances of eight different operas Saturday, September 27, 2014 through Sunday, March 15 , 2015.
