Last night, January 3, Darren Criss made his Broadway debut alongside Beau Bridges in HOW TO SUCCEED IN BUSINESS WITHOUT REALLY TRYING at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Prior to his role as 'Blaine Anderson' on 'Glee,' Darren Criss was best-known for playing 'Harry Potter' in Team StarKid's A Very Potter Musical and Sequel, for which he contributed to the musical scores. He also conceptualized the story and provided the music and lyrics for Team StarKid's recent musical, Starship, and if he get's his way, we might see it soon on the Great White Way. Criss just told the New York Times that he'd love to bring one of his StarKid shows to Broadway in the next five years.

Despite a previous report that originated on Ohnotheydidnt.com, Broadway-bound Ricky Martin is not planning to wed his longtime boyfriend, Carlos Gonzalez in New York later this month. ONYD had reported that a Miami wedding was likely, however a spokesperson for Martin has clarified: 'It is a completely incorrect report. Ricky Martin has no set plans to marry.'

The New York Times reports today that a FINDING NEVERLAND musical has been greenlighted by The Weinstein Company for further development following successful readings in London last week. The project was last workshopped in New York this past spring and was scheduled to premiere at the La Jolla playhouse this fall. The Weinstein's pulled the project at the last minute (which was replaced at La Jolla by the Startford Festival's Jesus Christ Superstar, currently running) to develop further. Tony Award winner Rob Ashford helms the project, which has Broadway apsirations. The project marks the first musical on which the Weinstein company is lead producer.

According to published reports Broadway-bound Ricky Martin, who will soon star as Che in EVITA, has topped the list of Most-Googled Gays & Lesbians in 2011. Also making the list were Jane Lynch, Chris Colfer, Zachary Quinto, Elton John, and Adam Lambert.

The producers of LEAP OF FAITH, the new musical based on the Paramount Pictures film, have just announced new members of the creative team for the production that will have its Broadway debut in the fall of 2012 at a theatre to be announced. With music by Academy and Grammy Award-winner Alan Menken and lyrics by Glenn Slater, LEAP OF FAITH will star 4-time Tony Award nominee Raúl Esparza as conman Jonas Nightingale.
