The Maxwell C. King Center for Performing Arts will be hosting a 'Girls' Night Out: A Gray Tie Affair' fundraising event tonight, January 24th at 6pm. The evening will include a ticket to see 50 Shades! The Musical Parody, a reserved parking pass, a pre-show party pass, complimentary hors d'oeuvres and one drink, plus a meet and greet with the cast of the show. Desserts will be served at intermission. The cost for a Gray Tie Party Pass is $115. Gentlemen are welcome. A special area will be reserved in the King Center lobby for pre-show party pass attendees.
George Street Playhouse to Host Annual Gala in May; Honoree Announced

New Brunswick's George Street Playhouse celebrates the end of another successful season on Sunday, May 3 with their Annual Gala Benefit, themed 'A Starry Night.' As part of the celebration, the Thomas H. Kean Arts Advocacy Award will be conferred upon Stephen K. Jones, President and Chief Executive Officer of Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital and Robert Wood Johnson Health System by the former Governor himself. The first award was given to Governor Kean in 1990 and thereafter, named in his honor to pay tribute to an individual, corporation or foundation whose dedication to the arts enhances the cultural life of the citizens of New Jersey. In addition, this year the Playhouse established The Arthur Laurents Award for Distinguished Artistic Achievement, to be conferred upon an outstanding individual that reflects Mr. Laurents' high artistic standard. The recipient will be announced at a later date.

Franklin Performing Arts Company's annual, free Family Concert Series kicks off this season with “Jazz4kidz Featuring Mark Poniatowski and Friends” on Sunday, January 11 at 1 p.m. at THE BLACK BOX, 15 West Central Street, in downtown Franklin. Joining Poniatowski are vocalist April Hall, drummer Kenny Hadley, guitarist Mark White and pianist Joe Mulholland. Family Concert Series events are especially geared to children in length and presentation and provide young audiences with a fun introduction to the world of live music. The performances introduce audiences of all ages to music of many genres and feature talented, professional musicians in an engaging, entertaining and interactive format. Audience participation is encouraged.
