Wednesday, June 10 at 8PM, 92Y presents Drawing Music - Hyman's Piano Meets Hirschfeld's Pen. Legendary pianist Dick Hyman will perform music inspired by Al Hirschfeld's magically inked images of Broadway shows and music stars, while a selection of these drawings is shown on stage. Louise Kerz Hirschfeld, president of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, and David Leopold, Creative Director of the Al Hirschfeld Foundation, will discuss the life and work of this original and iconic artist, and the stories behind his drawings. ?HBO has renewed its commitment to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation by acquiring the rights to present the annual induction ceremony for three more years, it was announced today by Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming.
Thursday, May 28 at 6:30PM, The New-York Historical Society presented Memories of Al Hirschfeld, a special event featuring Al Hirschfeld Foundation President Louise Kerz Hirschfeld, Robert Osborne of The Hollywood Reporter and Turner Classic Movies, legendary Broadway producer and director Harold Prince, and Frank Rich of New York Magazine in discussion about the life and legacy of Al HIrschfeld through his art, career, and personal relationships.

In an exciting recent announcement from Visit Sarasota County, the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall was ranked the #1 tourist attraction in Sarasota County during the January-March quarter. This is the first time the hall has appeared at the top of the ranking, with 36% of tourists considering the hall a must-see destination during their stay in Sarasota. St. Armands Circle, which usually tops the ranking, was a close second. Additionally, the Van Wezel is ranked as the #1 Performing Arts Hall in North America, in the 2000-seat category in the June edition of Venues Today Magazine.
