Music Theatre Group Hosts Music-Theatre Jam In DUMBO 4/9

In celebration of the company's 40th Anniversary, The Music-Theatre Group (Diane Wondisford, Producing Director) has announced plans for their "Music-Theatre Jam," a one-time-only happening featuring a treasure-trove of material from their past productions, to take place on Saturday, April 9th at 10 Jay Street, 9th Floor in DUMBO at 6:00 p.m.

Composer Development Program Returns to American Opera Projects

American Opera Projects (AOP) announces the return of its popular Composers & the Voice program for its upcoming 2011-2012 season. Created and led by Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood, six composers or composer/librettist teams will be selected for a year-long fellowship, working with the company's Resident Ensemble of Singers and Artistic Team.

Goodnight Moon is a lullaby for singer and piano continuing composer Glen Roven's settings to music of celebrated children's author, Margaret Wise Brown. It will premiere next May at Carnegie Hall with the Buffalo Philharmonic. Rhoda Herrick has just announced that Garden of Earthly Delights will be extending its run for the second consecutive time, continuing through Sunday, May 31 at the Minetta Lane Theatre (18 Minetta Lane). The show, which opened to rave reviews on November 19, began previews on November 8 and was originally slated to run through January 18. Two New Operas Premiere at NYFOS March 11 & 13

New York Festival of Song (NYFOS) continues its 20th Anniversary season by presenting Bastianello and Lucrezia, two newly commissioned comic operas by composers John Musto and William Bolcom with libretti by Mark Campbell. The concerts will take place on Tuesday, March 11 and Thursday, March 13 at 8PM, Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall, West 57th Street and 7th Avenue.
