Tickets to MISS SAIGON Gala Performance Sell Out Within Minutes

The Gala Performance to celebrate 25 years of Boublil & Schonberg's MISS SAIGON on Monday 22 September, has sold out within minutes of tickets going on sale this morning, Tuesday 26 August. Over 18,000 people tried to buy tickets when booking opened at10.00am; an unprecedented amount for a single performance in a theatre with just over 1700 seats.

Tickets Go on Sale 8/24 for ANYTHING GOES at The Hobby Center This Fall

The national tour of ANYTHING GOES, the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter's timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, will make its Houston premiere October 14-19 as part of the 2014-2015 Season of Broadway at the Hobby Center. Individual tickets will be on sale beginning Sunday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m.

CRT to Close Summer Season with RING OF FIRE: THE MUSIC OF JOHNNY CASH, 8/27-9/13

Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 43rd annual summer season of quality live theatre with the foot-stoppin', hand-clappin' musical revue "Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash", which was created by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by William Meade. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 27 - September 13 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 29 and 31, and September 3, 7 and 10 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. Tickets are also available for sale 24 hours a day through the CRT website at www.cortlandrep.org.

MISS SAIGON made its highly anticipated return to London on May 21, 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the musical's 25th anniversary year. BWW Reviews: CLOSER THAN EVER Raises Funds for The Barn Players

Closer Than Ever opened Friday night at the Barn Players in Mission, Kan. The play with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire is the yearly musical fundraiser for the Barn Players. On Friday night, Danielle Gibbs with Premiere Designs sold jewelry in the lobby, with 25% of the proceeds going to the Barn Players, and will return for Sunday's performance.

BWW Interviews: Hunter Foster Talks About AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' at Bucks County Playhouse

AIN'T MISBEHAVIN', the musical revue that celebrates the music of Fats Waller, is the next show that will open at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Hunter Foster is directing this production, and he is no stranger to directing shows at Bucks County Playhouse (BCP). In the 2013 season at BCP, Foster directed THE SUMMER OF '42 and THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. In addition, Foster, is known for roles such as Bobby Strong in URINETOWN, Benny Perkins in HANDS ON A HARDBODY, as well as many others took the time to speak with me about directing AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' and the importance of live theatre.
