Over 18,000 people tried to buy tickets when booking opened at10.00am; an unprecedented amount for a single performance in a theatre with just over 1700 seats.

The national tour of ANYTHING GOES, the new Broadway revival of Cole Porter's timeless classic musical theatre masterpiece, will make its Houston premiere October 14-19 as part of the 2014-2015 Season of Broadway at the Hobby Center. Individual tickets will be on sale beginning Sunday, August 24 at 10:00 a.m.
Cortland Repertory Theatre closes their 43rd annual summer season of quality live theatre with the foot-stoppin', hand-clappin' musical revue "Ring of Fire: The Music of Johnny Cash", which was created by Richard Maltby Jr., and conceived by William Meade. Performances will run for three weeks, from August 27 - September 13 with evening performances at 7:30. Matinees are available on August 29 and 31, and September 3, 7 and 10 at 2:00 PM. Tickets may be purchased by calling 800-427-6160 or at the CRT Box Office at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland. A reissue of the complete recording of Alain Boublil & Claude-Michel Schonberg's MISS SAIGON is set for release today according to a new listing on Amazon.
MISS SAIGON made its highly anticipated return to London on May 21, 2014 at the Prince Edward Theatre, in the musical's 25th anniversary year. Now there is even more to look forward to, as the show just announced via Facebook that fans can register to see a special gala performance on September 22:

Closer Than Ever opened Friday night at the Barn Players in Mission, Kan. The play with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire is the yearly musical fundraiser for the Barn Players. On Friday night, Danielle Gibbs with Premiere Designs sold jewelry in the lobby, with 25% of the proceeds going to the Barn Players, and will return for Sunday's performance.
