Julia Roberts may be the next A-lister to make a guest cameo on GLEE, as BroadwayWorld previously reported. on January 17, GLEE star Jane Lynch revealed to Access Hollywood that during the Golden Globe Award ceremony Roberts approached the cast of GLEE, and creator Ryan Murphy with an idea about a role she would be interested in playing on the show.

Asolo Rep announces additional casting for award-winning Managing Maxine, Janece Shaffer's new play that takes a straight forward look at sex, love and life after 70. The cast features Howard Elfman as Louis, the role he originated last season in the world premiere of Managing Maxine at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta.

Due to the unexpected storm sweeping the south, On Stage Atlanta has postponed the opening night of Three Days of Rain, by Richard Greenberg, until tomorrow, February 13.

Dunedin artist Gayle Lerman-DeCoste, well known for her seascapes and landscapes in oil, acrylics and watercolor, will display 18 pieces of artwork at an opening reception preceding "Three Days of Rain". The art reception is open to the public and will be held Opening Night, Friday, March 5th ~ in the lobby from 7:00pm to 8:00pm. Refreshments will be served. Paintings will be available for sale throughout the performances, with a portion going to the theatre.

David Hirson was born in New York City and was educated at Yale and Oxford. He is the author of two plays for the theatre, La Bête (1991) and Wrong Mountain (2000), both of which have been produced on Broadway. He has received numerous honours for his work, including the 1992 Laurence Olivier Award for Best Comedy. The original Broadway production of La Bête was nominated for five Tony awards in 1991. A collected edition of his plays is published by Grove Press. He is currently working on a new version of Die Fledermaus for the Metropolitan Opera.

The Daily Mail is reporting that actor David Hyde Pierce will team up with British actress and comic Joanna Lumley for a revival of David Hirson's comedy drama 'La Bete'. Joining the duo will be Mark Rylance, currently starring in Jerusalem at the Apollo.
Universal Acquires Rights to Hanks-Directed 'Larry Crowne'

Two of the biggest names in Hollywood, Tom Hanks and Julia Roberts, are teaming up again for the upcoming film 'Larry Crowne.' Hanks, who has written the script, will also direct the film. This will be his first directing stint in over a decade (he directed 'That Thing You Do' in 1996). The plot for 'Larry Crowne' involves a middle-aged man who is forced to find a new career.

Annette Bening, who plays the famed feminist in playwright Joanna Murray-Smith's comedy The Female of the Species, will be sharing the Geffen Playhouse stage with a diverse group of acclaimed actors: David Arquette (Scream, Never Been Kissed), Tony Award nominee Mireille Enos (Big Love, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf on Broadway), Merritt Wever (Nurse Jackie), Julian Sands (A Room with a View, Boxing Helena) and Josh Stamberg (Drop Dead Diva). The production is helmed by Geffen Playhouse Artistic Director Randall Arney and begins in previews on February 2 with an official opening night of Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
