ODC Theater has announced the program for the Music Moves Festival, nearly a full month of diverse performances emphasizing the relationship between music and dance. Festival highlights include the West Coast debut of Dance Heginbotham as well as works by Joe Goode, Pearl Marill, Kate Weare, Randy Paufve and Brenda Way. A series of one-night only concerts features artists Holcombe Waller, Keith Terry & Corposonic, Dandelion Dancetheater's Bandelion ensemble and San Jose Taiko with DJ Bangerz. Finally, the Festival spotlights Namita Kapoor and Rueda con Ritmo, performing as part of ODC Theater's biannual Dance and Diaspora series, and Milissa Payne Bradley and Antoine Hunter, this year's Theater Unplugged artists. The Music Moves Festival runs July 31 to August 24, 2014.

Chen's Lantern Festival Performances will present A Tribute to Remy Charlip (1929-2012), one of the dance world's best-loved artists, in the intimate teahouse setting of the Chen Dance Center, 70 Mulberry Street, tonight, February 28, March 1 & 2 at 7:30 PM. A pre-show reception, with refreshments, will take place at 7 PM, and the one-hour performance will begin at 7:30 PM.

As we approach the end of 2012 Broadway Dance World would like to pay tribute to those who passed away this year. Besides dancers they were teachers, musicians, scene designers, composers, administrators, writers, producers, scene designers and board members. Some were very prominent, others had fleeting careers. It does not make a difference. They gave of themselves and for that alone we owe them our gratitude.
