This winter, Diana Amsterdam's CARNIVAL ROUND THE CENTRAL FIGURE brings the macabre back to New York City. In a staging by Karen Kohlhaas reminiscent of the carnal exorbitance of carnivale's heyday, featuring a cast of characters pulled straight from the murky depths of the human psyche. Carnival is a hilarious, bizarre, and poignant story of the meaning of death, of dying with dignity, and the ancient dilemma of living for a life after death. Brooklyn-based theater company 31 Down's loud meditation on paranoia and premonition surrounding plane crashes, RED OVER RED, will premiere with a run at New York City's Incubator Arts Project July 22-August 7, 2010. 31 Down returns with their signature sonic destruction, creating a horror theater that is immersive, visceral and contemporary. Red Over Red follows four people working in and around the airline industry to explore distrust in one another on a personal level, and distrust in the unknown on a primal level. Featuring recurring crash nightmares, the work graphically dives into our renewed fears of flight post 911. Starring frequent Richard Foreman and Hal Hartley actor DJ Mendel, and Caitlin McDonough-Thayer, Ryan Holsopple and Risa Sarachan.

Playwright TOMMY SMITH serves as the master of ceremonies.

Grammy(R)-winning trio Lady Antebellum and a special guest appearance by Jerry Seinfeld are two of the latest additions to the lineup of specials being taped for TBS at the second-annual edition of TBS PRESENTS A 'VERY FUNNY' FESTIVAL: JUST FOR LAUGHS this June in Chicago. Three specials - Ellen's Somewhat Special Special, Cedric The Entertainer's Urban Circus and Team Coco presents Conan's Writers Live hosted by Andy Richter - are set to be taped at the Festival for premiere on TBS. A fourth special for TBS, How to Build the Perfect Grown Up, is slated to be screened at the Festival prior to its on-air premiere. TBS and Just For Laughs' Festival in Chicago takes place Tuesday, June 14 - Saturday, June 19, with all four specials slated to premiere on TBS the following week.

Yesterday, Conan O'Brien performed at the Radio City Music Hall as part of his 'Legally Prohibited From Being Funny On Television' tour. An ode to the life changing events of his past year, the show makes light of O'Brien's resignation from his position as host of The Tonight Show in January 2010 for Jay Leno. O'Brien's settlement with NBC bars him from appearing on television as the host of a program until September 2010, however is permitted to perform before a live audience in a concert setting. In 'Legally Prohibited' incorporates video bits from his past television segments, musical and comic performers, and cameo appearances by celebrities. In the Radio City installment, comedian Reggie Watts opened for Conan, followed by the 'Legally Prohibited' Band. BroadwayWorld brings you coverage of the concert below.

After three successful years of the Playwrights of New York (PONY) Fellowship, the Lark PlayDevelopmentCenter is proud to announce that playwright Tommy Smith will be the 2010-11 PONY Fellow, one of the most unique artist fellowships in the country. He will succeed Katori Hall (Olivier Award, THE MOUNTAINTOP) in October 2010.
