IKE AT NIGHT to Play The Bushwick Star, 5/18-6/4

In Ike at Night, remarkable comic performer Ikechukwu Ufomadu, described as the son that Woody Allen and Frank Sinatra never had, hosts a late-night talk show in front of a live studio audience - you. Each night is a completely different and brand-new mix of comedy, music and interviews. With sold-out runs at Brooklyn venue JACK in 2014 and The Public Theater's Under the Radar Festival in 2015, the show features Jonathan Jacobs aka The Vintage DJ as 'bandleader' and B. Brian Argotsinger as Ike's sidekick. The show has welcomed special guests including comedian John Hodgman; entertainer Reggie Watts; Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams; photographer and MacArthur Fellow Carrie Mae Weems; five-time OBIE Award-winner David Greenspan; and many more.

KINO KIMINO Announce Debut LP ft. Members of Sonic Youth + Share 'Passion'

Kino Kimino is the brainchild of Kim Talon, who landed in New York City from Manitoba, headed across the river to Hoboken and plugged in with Lee Ranaldo and Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth to throw down the ten sweetly serrated, sometimes volatile, post-punk songs on debut album Bait Is for Sissies

Reed Birney & More Set for THE ASSEMBLY Talkbacks at New Ohio Theatre

To accompany the world premiere of their latest original work, I Will Look Forward to This Later, presented by New Ohio Theatre as part of the Archive Residency, a collaboration between the New Ohio and IRT Theater, The Assembly is curating a post-show conversation series. Talkbacks will feature artists from a multitude of disciplines sparking inter-generational dialogue on the topic of sustaining a life, and career, in the arts world.

Kevin Thornton's Latest THE QUEST FOR CUPCAKE Debuts Today

The Quest for Cupcake: A One Woman Show, the latest stage incarnation of writer-musician-actor-performer Kevin Thornton, a presentation that he describes as a "new comedy show in drag" will be performed at Nashville's Bongo After Hours Theatre today, March 31. Curtain's at 8 p.m. for the acclaimed performer's newest onstage effort.

Kennedy Center Adds to District of Comedy Festival

From June 22-25, the Kennedy Center presents its first District of Comedy Festival, bringing together acclaimed stars and rising acts for an all-laughs takeover of the nation's center for the performing arts. The festival, an expansion of Capital One's Comedy at the Kennedy Center sponsorship, features stand-up shows, a musical comedy revue, a jazz and comedy mashup, and a performance for children and families in spaces across the Center. The District of Comedy Festival also coincides with the world premiere of a new collaboration with Chicago's The Second City, which will run for six weeks in the Theater Lab. Tickets for the newly announced performances go on sale to Kennedy Center Members on Monday, April 4, 2016 and to the general public on Thursday, April 7, 2016.

BAM Presents Sarah Silverman, 5/22

 Vulture.com, New York magazine's culture and entertainment site, today announced Sarah Silverman & Friends will perform at the 2016 Vulture Festival Comedy Night, taking place at BAM on Sunday, May 22, at 8 p.m.Tickets will go on sale Wednesday, March 30, at 12 p.m., starting at $47, and can be purchased at bam.org/vulturefest. Additional performers on the Sarah Silverman & Friends show will be announced in the coming weeks. Comedy Night is being produced in collaboration with Carolines on Broadway.

F*It Club to Continue Series of Short World Premiere Plays at IRT Theatre

F*It Club, the New York Innovative Award-winning film and theatre company, continues its annual series of short, commissioned world-premiere plays at the IRT Theater as part of their 3B Development Series in Manhattan's West Village with The Spring Fling: Crush, six new short plays by  Kevin Artigue (The Forcings), Stephanie Del Rosso (Flee), Catya McMullen (Everything is Probably Going to be Okay), Seth Moore (Seawife), Gregory S. Sundance Institute Announces Projects for Theatre Lab in MENA

Sundance Institute today announced the eight new projects selected for its pilot Theatre Lab in the MENA region, held in Morocco, May 2016. The Lab is part of the Institute's international cultural exchange programs for independent artists, which include a new, multi-year commitment to support artists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), broadening the work of its East African Theatre Exchange over the past 15 years. For the Lab, the Institute will provide promising, fresh voices from the U.S. and MENA region with a rigorous artistic retreat and new opportunities for cross-cultural discovery, artistic reflection and creative experimentation.
