GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI for June 1, 2017

GOOD MORNING, THEATERATI! It's Thursday, June 1, 2017 - or, as we like to call it #TheaterThursday, 'June is busting out all over…' as a song from Carousel reminds us, and there's no better way to kick off a new month than by planning our theater outings for the weekend! Tomorrow night at Cumberland County Playhouse, the company, cast and crew unveil the 2017 model of Smoke on the Mountain, which marks the 24th year of the musical playing in Crossville. Weslie Webster directs and her cast includes Daniel W. Black and Lauren Marshall as Sanders family father and mother Burl and Vera.

The Capitol Theatre presents BERES HAMMOND 10/4

Reggae Legend, Beres Hammond, known for his distinctive brand of 'lover's rock', makes his debut at the Capitol Theatre on Friday, August 4 at 8 pm.  Tickets go on sale Friday, June 2 at 10 am.

Play Me Again Pianos Installs Public Piano in Brookhaven

Play Me Again Pianos announced today its newest public piano will open in Brookhaven's Ashford Park, on Redding Road, Sunday, June 4th.  The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting and join in the festivities at 1:30 p.m.

Lincoln Hall Presents Live Celebration of Joe Cocker's MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN, 4/20

Lincoln Hall presents a celebration and re-creation of the entire groundbreaking 1970 live album and tour, MAD DOGS & ENGLISHMEN on Thursday, April 20th. Serving as a dedication to Joe Cocker and Leon Russell, the show will be recreated with the exact 20-piece personnel from the original tour including a full choir, two drum kits, horn section, piano and Hammond B3, two guitars, and more.
