Dramatists Guild & Northwestern Announce Writers for Chicago Intensive

The Dramatists Guild of America and Northwestern University announce the selection of Nambi E. Kelley, Chelsea Marcantel, Lily Mooney, Bruce Murphy, Gwendolyn Rice, Gloria Bond Clunie, Steve and Karen Multer and Ethan Deppe for the second annual Dramatists Guild Chicago Intensive supported by the Dramatists Guild and hosted by Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

MCC Theater presents the first production of their 2011-2012 season: Jeff Talbott's The Submission, directed by Walter Bobbie. Performances of this funny and furiously intelligent new play begin at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 8, 2011 and continue through October 22, 2011. Steppenwolf Theatre Presents THE HEART IS A LONELY HUNTER, 10/11-11/4

Steppenwolf for Young Adults launches its 2011/12 season with The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter adapted by Rebecca Gilman, based on the novel by Carson McCullers and directed by Hallie Gordon, playing October 11 - November 4, 2011 in Steppenwolf's Upstairs Theatre, 1650 N. Halsted St. The production features ensemble member Alan Wilder with Jessica Honor Carleton, Derrick C. Cooper, Walter Coppage, Ann Joseph, Loren Lazerine, Colm O'Reilly, Jay Reed, Robert Schleifer and Nick Vidal. Weekday matinees (Tuesdays through Fridays) are reserved for school groups only, with weekend (Saturday and Sunday) performances available to the public. Single tickets and tickets for school groups are currently on sale.

Silk Road Theatre Project Presents YELLOW FACE, Closes 7/31

Yellow Face, the nationally-acclaimed play by Tony Award winning playwright David Henry Hwang, will close at Silk Road Theatre Project (SRTP), produced in association with the Goodman Theatre, on July 17. Yellow Face, directed by Steve Scott, plays in Pierce Hall at The Historic Chicago Temple Building, 77 W. Washington St, Chicago.
