On May 29 2009, The Forge at The Court Theatre presents the powerful and provocative story of a peace activist killed in the Gaza Strip in the New Zealand première of My Name Is Rachel Corrie.

Piece by Piece Productions and Rising Phoenix Repertory in association with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater will present the New York premiere of Slipping, written by Daniel Talbott and directed by Kirsten Kelly, beginning Tuesday, July 28 at 8pm at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, 224 Waverly Place. The opening night is set for Tuesday, August 4 at 7pm.

Why?, humorist, storyteller and NPR-contributor Kevin Kling returns to Seattle Rep with singer/accordionist Simone Perrin for the world premiere of a new collection of vignettes, stories and songs called Breakin' Hearts & Takin' Names. This time around, the two take on all things amore-from romantic dalliances, to brotherly love, to the joy of the human spirit.

Profiles Theatre continues its 20th Anniversary Season with the acclaimed new dark comedy The Wonderful World of Dissocia by Anthony Neilson, directed by Profiles Associate Artistic Director Darrell W. Cox. The production runs March 26 - May 10, 2009, at Profiles Theatre, 4147 N. Broadway. The press opening is Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 8:00 p.m.

Acclaimed theater auteur David Levine premieres his latest reality-bending project, VENICE SAVED: A SEMINAR, beginning previews March 19th at P.S. 122. For this inquiry into the nature of democracy and the value of 'political theater,' Levine has eliminated the 'audience' and gathered everyone around a seminar table peppered with cast members who may, or may not, be acting. The topic of this seminar is Simone Weil's unfinished 1943 play Venise Sauv?e, an allegory of democracy and its overthrow, presented on the 100th anniversary of Weil's birth.

Winner of the 2007 Olivier Award for Best New Play, BLACKBIRD tells the story of a meeting between two people, Ray and Una, who fifteen years ago had a passionate affair. Emotions run high as the pair recalls their scandalous relationship and attempt to come to terms with the shattering truth of their abandoned love.

Up-and-coming Seattle director Braden Abraham (My Name is Rachel Corrie) stages Harold Pinter's love-triangle-with-a-twist Betrayal at Seattle Repertory Theatre, February 19-March 22, 2009. In this fresh retelling of Pinter's gripping drama, a woman's illicit relationship with her husband's best friend is played out in reverse, from the end of the affair to their first encounter. Betrayal plays in Seattle Rep's intimate Leo K. Theatre. Previews begin February 19, with opening night set for February 25. Following rave reviews Too Much Memory, written by Keith Reddin and Meg Gibson, and directed by Ms. Gibson, has sold out its run through its closing on Monday, December 22, at the Fourth Street Theatre, 83 East 4th Street. The Rising Phoenix Repertory and Piece by Piece production opened Tuesday, December 9, to rave reviews as part of New York Theatre Workshop's Jonathan Larson Lab. All performances are sold out. Those wishing to be put on a waiting should arrive at the theatre 45 minutes prior to curtain.
