On Sunday, October 16, the wildly popular cabaret benefit, Les Girls, returned to the stage for its 16th annual celebration. Hosted by Ari Graynor (For a Good Time, Call...), the event kicked off with a cocktail reception and silent auction followed by a sexy and wickedly funny evening of entertainment, made possible by the donated performances of some of Hollywood's top personalities! All the proceeds supported the National Breast Cancer Coalition Fund's Breast Cancer Deadline 2020, a strategic plan of action with a January 1, 2020 deadline for knowing how to end the disease. A year and a half ago, it was in no way certain that the quirky musical comedy CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND was going to make it to television. After hitting a developmental snag as a 30-minute pilot for Showtime, creators Rachel Bloom and Aline Brosh McKenna repackaged the series as a 44-minute show for Showtime's sister network, The CW.

I binge-watched the entire first season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend last month because I'd been hearing good things about it for a while and finally decided to see it for myself. It absolutely lives up to the hype-it's unlike anything I've ever seen on TV. The brainchild of Rachel Bloom follows a big-shot New York lawyer (played by Bloom) as she moves across the country on a whim to be with her high school boyfriend whom she hasn't spoken to in more than ten years. You can imagine the chaos that ensues. The show is a theater kid's dream. Each episode is like a mini-musical. The songs are amazing, the dialogue and storylines are hilarious, and the characters are, like every day people, flawed but lovable. In honor of Season 2's upcoming premiere, I thought I'd share my top five favorite songs so far (in no particular order):
