Sierra Rep will open its doors for an all-access Open House on Saturday, June 28 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the East Sonora Theatre.

The Lobby Project, a series of free pre-show events presented in conjunction with New York City Center's Encores! Off-Center series, will feature a free pre-show event before the Saturday, June 28 performance of Jonathan Larson's tick, tick… BOOM!. 54 Below Meets 55 Above will feature selections of Larson's rarely heard work, curated by Jennifer Tepper (programming director of the cabaret venue 54 Below) sung by Broadway performers Nick Blaemire, Joe Iconis, Anne L. Nathan, Taylor Trensch and Alysha Umphress.

Florida Studio Theatre announces the opening of the first show in the Summer Mainstage Season Pump Boys and Dinettes, book, lyrics, and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel, and Jim Wann. The show will open in the Gompertz Theatre today, June 4 and run through June 29, 2014.

Florida Studio Theatre presents an exciting new Summer Mainstage and Cabaret Season. The Mainstage kicks off with the foot-stomping musical Pump Boys and Dinettes, the humorous and inspirational drama Becoming Dr. Ruth, and the thought-provoking Taking Shakespeare. The Summer Cabaret Season will consist of At The Hop, by America's Premiere Doo-Wop group, The Alley Cats, Clearly Invisible: Magic Up Close with Carl Seiger, and Somewhere Over the Rose, The Songs and Stories of Judy Garland and Bette Midler.

Summer in New York is traditionally a quiet time for Broadway, although the now-previewing Tupac Shakur musical, Holler If Ya Hear Me is certainly creating quite a buzz. Perennials like Shakespeare In The Park and the New York International Fringe Festival always draw mobs of playgoers looking for a great time, but everywhere you turn in this arts-crazy city there's somebody putting on a show.

The Double Cupp Diner sits on the side of the road "somewhere between Frog Level and Smyrna, NC." But from June 13 to July 27 the diner - the setting of Pump Boys and Dinettes - will relocate to East Sonora as Sierra Repertory Theatre stages another rendition of this popular musical.

Pump Boys and Dinettes, the final production of the 2014 Encores! Off-Center series, will star Jordan Dean,Hunter Foster, Mamie Parris, Randy Redd, Katie Thompson and Lorenzo Wolff. Pump Boys, running July 16 - 19, will be directed by Lear deBessonet and choreographed by Danny Mefford. Jeanine Tesori is the Encores! Off-Center artistic director; Chris Fenwick is the music director.

Pittsburgh CLO presents the rousing musical hit Ring of Fire, which will run today, May 22 through August 17 at the CLO Cabaret.

Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre Artistic Director/co-Founder Fred Anzevino has announced the company's 2014-15 season. The season will include two musicals - both to be directed by Anzevino - and two cabarets saluting two great - and very different - musical theater songwriters. The company's much-acclaimed music directors - Jeremy Ramey and Aaron Benham - will be back, providing musical direction for two shows each.

Mark Cuddy, Producer of The Cape Playhouse, has announced the casting for his first slate of productions during the historic theater's 88th Season in Dennis, MA. Six shows - a mix of comedies, dramas & musicals - starring Broadway actors will be live on stage from June 9 - August 30, 2014.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Angela's Ashes, and bestseller Tis, Frank McCourt, and his brother Malachy, also a successful author, joined talents to write an autobiographical account of their years growing up in poverty in Ireland, A Couple of Blaguards. Though times were tough in Limerick, the tales spun by the brothers McCourt simmer with bittersweet recollections, ferocious humor and a parade of colorful characters from the priest who warns of sinners' eyeballs exploding in hell to the McCourt grandmother who spits on Franks unruly Presbyterian hair to tame it.

A packed theatre of patrons at last night's opening performance of Camelot was treated to the announcement of Georgia Ensemble Theatre's (GET's) 2014-2015 Season lineup of plays which is filled with musical favorites, powerhouse drama, comedy and a world premiere. Artistic Director Robert J. Farley proudly stood before the crowd for the presentation of plays that are sure to thrill patrons new and old. Southwestern University is proud to present Gypsy, with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, today, March 26-30, 2014. Gypsy is directed by Rick Roemer. Performances will run at 7:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Alma Thomas Theater. Tickets are $10-20.
