Aurora's Paramount Theatre will launch its third Broadway subscription series this September with the first local professional staging of In the Heights, one of Broadway's most acclaimed contemporary musicals, a potent reminder of the importance of chasing one's dreams, and the show all of Chicago will be talking about this fall. American Blues Theater Presents HANK WILLIAMS: LOST HIGHWAY, Now thru 10/6

Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the first production in American Blues Theater's 'Legends and Legacies' season, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, by Randal Myler and Mark Harelik, directed by Damon Kiely, music director Malcolm Ruhl and starring Matt Brumlow as 'Hank Williams,' tonight, August 30 - October 6, at the Greenhouse Theater Center's Downstage Mainstage Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave.

LES MISERABLES, THE SOUND OF MUSIC & More Set for Sierra Rep's 2014 Season

Sierra Repertory Theatre celebrates its 35th Anniversary with what SRT artistic director Scott Viets called 'one of the most exciting and ambitious seasons in our entire history.' Commencing with the international sensation Les Miserables, the 2014 season will include eight plays and musicals - three shows with live music, a sequel to last year's Church Basement Ladies, an Arthur Miller drama, a Rodgers and Hammerstein classic and a new musical comedy about contestants at a spelling bee. Season tickets go on sale September 1, and general admission tickets go on sale October 1.

One of the most hotly anticipated new musicals from Broadway, 9 to 5, The Musical has come to the Marriott Theatre, 10 Marriott Drive in Lincolnshire. The production, which began performances on August 14 and opened on August 21, will run through October 13. Based on the smash 1980 film, 9 to 5, The Musical is the hilarious story of friendship and revenge in the rolodex era. The musical features the blockbuster title song plus a jubilant Tony Award-nominated score by multi Grammy Award-winner Dolly Parton and a book by original screenwriter Patricia Resnick, The Marriott Theatre production will be directed by 11 time Jeff Award-winner David H. Geva Theatre Co. to Open 41st Season with PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES, 9/10-10/13

Geva Theatre Center invites Rochester to join in the down-home country fun of Pump Boys and Dinetteswith book, lyrics and music by John Foley, Mark Hardwick, Debra Monk, Cass Morgan, John Schimmel and Jim Wann and directed byMark Cuddy, with choreography by Peggy Hickey and musical direction by Nathan Dame. Pump Boys and Dinettes begins performances on September 10 and runs in the Elaine P. Wilson Mainstage through October 13.

It doesn't happen often, but in 1981 a group of talented actors put on a little show about waitresses and garage guys. Then, in 1982 it moved to Broadway where it ran for more than 570 performances. PUMP BOYS AND DINETTES has been performed frequently around the USA ever since, and this August, director Daryl Streeter will bring the delightful musical to the ADOBE Theater for a dozen performances.

Theater for the New City Tours SANITATION, OR OFF THE GRID Throughout the Five Boroughs, Now thru 9/15

Theater for the New City's award-winning Street Theater Company opens its 37th annual tour today, August 3 with 'Sanitation, or Off the Grid,' a rip-roaring musical which will tour City streets, parks and playgrounds throughout the five boroughs through September 15. The production, free to all New Yorkers, will have book, lyrics and direction by Crystal Field and musical score composed by Joseph Vernon Banks. (Schedule follows at bottom of this document.)

Misty Rowe Will Play the Metropolitan Room, 10/4-6

This October, the television and film actress and singer Misty Rowe makes a rare New York stage appearance as she premieres a brand new club act, "Blondes STILL Have More Fun," in an exclusive four-show engagement at The Metropolitan Room, 34 West 22nd Street. Widely recognized in the 70's and 80's for her roles on Hee Haw, Happy Days and Mel Brooks' When Things Were Rotten, Rowe makes her well-reasoned case for blonde hegemony in a revue filled with country-tinged folk, rock and pop that makes hay of her 40+ years in show business.

Kokandy Productions Presents THE LAST FIVE YEARS at Theater Wit, Now thru 8/25

Kokandy Productions presents the musical 'The Last Five Years', today, August 2 through 25 at Theater Wit, 1229 W. Belmont Ave. Traditionally, 'The Last Five Years' is performed by two actors accompanied by musicians; the Kokandy Productions concept has cast Jim DeSelm and Allison Hendrix to portray Jamie and Catherine respectively as well as accompany their performance on two pianos. John D. Glover directs, DeSelm and Hendrix are co-musical directors and K. Hannah Friedman serves as assistant director.

A team of experienced pros with extensive Broadway, regional and TV experience, will perform the hilarious, madcap comedy RUMORS, by Neil Simon, at the Saint Michael's Playhouse today, July 17 to 27. The show will be staged, evenings at 8 p.m. July 17 to 20, and 23-27 and matinees at 2 p.m. July 20 and 27.
