Kate Fodor's 'Rx' Makes LA Premiere at the Lost Studio, Now thru 3/2

Rx, a new comedy by Kate Fodor, has been set for its Los Angeles premiere today, January 10 through March 2 at the Lost Studio on La Brea. Directed by John Pleshette, there will be one preview performance tonight, January 10 at 8pm and opening is set for Saturday, January 11 at 8pm. Rx will play a limited engagement through March 2 only.

Huntington to Kick Off 2014 Breaking Ground Festival of New Plays, 1/30

Tickets are now on sale to the general public and rehearsals begin this Friday, January 10 for Playwrights Horizons' (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) New York premiere production of STAGE KISS, a new play marking the eagerly-anticipated return of two-time Pulitzer Prize finalist Sarah Ruhl (Dead Man's Cell Phone at PH; The Clean House, In the Next Room…, Eurydice) to the theater company. Directed by Rebecca Taichman (Milk Like Sugar at PH; Marie Antoinette, Orlando, The Scene, Luck of the Irish), the production will begin previews Friday evening, February 7 at 8PM with an Opening Night set for Sunday, March 2 at 7PM. The limited engagement will play through Sunday evening, March 23 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Breaking News: Broadway's CINDERELLA Announces Casting Update: Joe Carroll to Succeed Santino Fontana, Victoria Clark Will Return

The producers of the hit musical CINDERELLA on Broadway announce new cast members who will join the company in the coming weeks: starting January 28, Joe Carroll begins performances as Prince Topher, taking over the role from original cast member and Tony Award nominee Santino Fontana, who concludes his year-long run in the musical. Also beginningJanuary 28, Todd Buonopane will replace original cast member Greg Hildreth as the rebel Jean-Michel; and CINDERELLA ensemble member Stephanie Gibson will replace Marla Mindelle as stepsister Gabrielle. On January 21, Tony Award winner Victoria Clark will return as Cinderella's Fairy Godmother Marie, which she originated and for which she received a Tony Award nomination. Tony nominee Rebecca Luker has performed the role of Marie since September.

MCC THEATER announced today that tickets are now on sale for the anticipated Off-Broadway premiere of Robert Askins' Hand to God starring Steven Boyer who reprises his celebrated, Obie Award-winning performance from the Ensemble Studio Theatre (EST) in 2011. Boyer will be joined in this brand new production by Tony Award nominee Marc Kudisch as well as Geneva Carr, Michael Oberholtzer, and Sarah Stiles. Ars Nova kicks off 2014 with Game Play, this year's incarnation of Ars Nova's annual Play Group production. An evening of original short plays and live music inspired by classic board game titles, Game Play features Peter Benson, Marcia DeBonis, Dashiell Eaves, Brandon Gill, Ben Graney, Susan Heyward, Jessica Love and Carmen Zilles. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University announced today the cast and creative team for the world premiere production of Witness Uganda, created by Matt Gould and Griffin Matthews, directed by A.R.T. Artistic Director Diane Paulus, with choreography by Darrell Grand Moultrie. The production begins performances at the Loeb Drama Center at 64 Brattle Street, Cambridge on February 4, and will run through March 16. It is available for press viewing from Wednesday, February 12, at 7:30pm.

The Wild Root Company, a new production endeavor committed to developing new works from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, announced today full casting and creative team for its one-night-only benefit reading of Gloria, a brand new screenplay adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece The Beautiful and Damned. All profits raised from the evening, which will take place at The Mainstage at Playwrights Horizons on Monday January 6, 2014 at 8:00 pm, will go to the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBTQ Youth. Broadway legend, Tony and Drama Desk Award winner Dick Latessa (Broadway's The Lyons, Promises, Promises, Brighton Beach Memoirs) will star in the reading directed by two-time Drama Desk Award nominee Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (Restoration Comedy, These Seven Sicknesses).
