GCTC Artistic Director Launches New Season, Highlights Partnerships for 2015-16

At 6:00pm this evening, Artistic Director Eric Coates, Managing Director Hugh Neilson and associated artists took to the stage at the Irving Greenberg Theatre Centre to introduce GCTC's new season for 2015-2016. Eric Coates is passionate about programming Canadian playwrights and developing new works and this season is no different.

MCC Theater Rounds Out 2015-16 Season with Halley Feiffer's 'A FUNNY THING...'

MCC THEATER has announced the final production of its four-show 2015-16 Main Stage Season, which runs August 2015 through June 2016. Playwright Halley Feiffer (I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard) will make her MCC Theater debut with her play A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Gynecologic Oncology Unit at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center of New York City. Trip Cullman returns to direct after helming this season's critically acclaimed hit Punk Rock. Full details below. This also marks the reunion of Feiffer and Cullman following their hit production of I'm Gonna Pray For You So Hard at the Atlantic Theater Company in early 2015.

Plan-B to Stage World Premiere of PILOT PROGRAM by Melissa Leilani Larson

Melissa Leilani Larson makes her Plan-B debut with PILOT PROGRAM. Recent work includes a sold-out run of PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (commissioned by BYU); MARTYRS' CROSSING (IRAM Best New Play) debuting at the Edinburgh Fringe; and the feature film FREETOWN (in theaters April 2015). Other plays include LITTLE HAPPY SECRETS (Association for Mormon Letters Drama Award), A FLICKERING (Trustus Playwrights Festival Finalist), and STANDING STILL STANDING (Mayhew Award). Mel is a Dramatists Guild Ambassador for Utah. BA in English, BYU; MFA, Iowa Playwrights Workshop.

Great Lakes Theater (GLT), Cleveland's Classic Company, commences the second half its 2015-16 season with Frederick Knott's murder mystery masterpiece, Dial 'M' for Murder. The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, tonight, February 27 - March 22, 2015.

The production will be performed in the company's intimate and audience-friendly home at the Hanna Theatre, PlayhouseSquare, February 27 - March 22, 2015. Charles Fee, GLT's Producing Artistic Director, directs the production. Dial "M" for Murder is presented through special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

BWW Recap: SUPERNATURAL Teaches a Lesson in Internet Safety

Remember that infamous Nationwide commercial from the Superbowl? You know which one I'm talking about; the one where the poor kid can't play or get cooties because he died in a car accident. Not only was that ad completely horrifying, but also served no real purpose in the grand scheme of things. Sorry, Nationwide, but you aren't going to prevent a fatal and horrible car accident just because someone bought your insurance. Tonight's episode of SUPERNATURAL, entitled 'Halt & Catch Fire,' was a better PSA, warning us that if you cause an accident you better beware of those angry spirits.
