Pittsburgh CLO proudly presented the ninth-annual Julia Deberson Award to CLO Ensemble member Ward Billeisen.

Tony Award nominee Gavin Creel (Thoroughly Modern Millie) and 'American Idol' finalist Diana DeGarmo (Hairspray) will star in the new Broadway production of GODSPELL. The first Broadway revival of the landmark rock musical will officially open on Broadway at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre (243 West 47th Street) on Thursday, October 23, 2008. Previews will begin on Monday, September 29, 2008.

Neil Haskell, from Fox's hit reality show 'So You Think You Can Dance,' will join the cast of Altar Boyz, the acclaimed musical comedy at New World Stages, taking over the role of LUKE, beginning Tuesday, April 22nd.

Pittsburgh CLO's Summer Season 2008 will feature an outstanding array of Broadway stars and musical theater's most respected directors and choreographers.

The Road to Qatar!, a true new musical comedy, will have two staged readings for industry professionals at Chelsea Studios at 1pm and 4:30pm on April 18, 2007. The book and lyrics are by Stephen Cole and the music is by David Krane. Cole and Krane based the show on their real life experience of being commissioned to write the first American musical to premiere in the Middle East. The reading will be directed by Marcia Milgrim Dodge (Lucille Lortel Nominee for Seussical) and features a cast of five including Rob Bartlett (Little Shop of Horrors, The Imus Show), Mary Birdsong (Martin Short-Fame Becomes Me, Hairspray), Brad Oscar (The Producers, Spamalot), Seth Rudetsky (The Ritz), and Ray Wills (The Producers). One day three years ago both Stephen Cole and David Krane (who did not know each other at the time) received an email that read: 'We want you write musical. How much?' This began an unbelievable but true journey that introduced the two 'short Jews' to an alien world of camels, deserts and crazy Egyptian theatrical producers. During the course of this crazy Arab adventure, Stephen and David starred in their own personal Bob Hope-Bing Crosby 'road picture' that took them to Dubai, Qatar, London, Bratislava and back to the USA after writing and presenting a huge original musical for the Emir of Qatar and one thousand of his invited guests. When they returned, they had no other choice but to write their story in the only way they knew how: as a musical! The names have all been changed, but the story is totally true.

Ken Davenport and Robyn Goodman proudly announce that Neil Haskell, Fox's hit reality show 'So You Think You Can Dance,' will join the cast of Altar Boyz, the acclaimed musical comedy at New World Stages, taking over the role of LUKE, beginning April 22nd. He replaces Jesse JP Johnson.

Oprah Winfrey, Scott Sanders and the producing team of the Broadway smash hit The Color Purple are proud to announce that tickets for the first North American Touring production of The Color Purple in Pittsburgh will go on sale Monday, April 7, 2008 at 9 a.m. The Color Purple will run for two-weeks as part of the Pittsburgh CLO's 2008 Summer Season June 3 - June 15, 2008 at the Benedum Center.

The 2008-2009 CLO Cabaret Season contains record breaking shows including Shear Madness (May 15 - Sept. 28), which holds the record for the longest running play in American history, I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change (Oct. 9, 2008 - Feb. 1, 2009) which is Off-Broadway's longest running show and My Way: A Musical Tribute to Frank Sinatra (Feb. 12 - May 10, 2009) which celebrates the music of an American Legend.
