Violinist Amadeus Leopold will make his Houston debut tonight, Jan. 23, 2015, at 8 p.m. in the Wortham Center's Cullen Theater, presented by Society for the Performing Arts.

CHICAGO—Jeff Alexander, President of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra Association (CSOA), announced today that CSOA Trustee Bruce Clinton and his wife, Martha, along with members of The Clinton Family Fund, pledged $2 million to the CSOA to endow the Principal Timpani position in the Orchestra. The position, held since 2013 by David Herbert, will be known as The Clinton Family Fund Principal Timpani Chair of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

On Sunday, January 18, at 4 pm at Richardson Auditorium, the Princeton Symphony Orchestra (PSO) presents Scenic Rhythms, a concert featuring guitar soloist Robert Belini? performing Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez. Daniel Boico will guest conduct the program which also includes Ottorino Respighi's Trittico Botticelliano and Ludwig van Beethoven'sSymphony No. 7 in A Major.

Internationally celebrated pianist Jeffrey Siegel has been soloist with the world's great orchestras, collaborated with many of the pre-eminent conductors of our time, and his ongoing series of Keyboard Conversations flourish in numerous American cities. Harris Center for the Arts is pleased to welcome Mr. Siegel back for yet another of his Keyboard Conversations, concerts with lively commentary.

The Cleveland Orchestra today announced that Franklin Cohen, Principal Clarinet since 1976, will retire from the ensemble in the summer of 2015. After 39 seasons, Mr. Cohen will have had the longest tenure of any solo clarinetist in the orchestra's history. The title of Principal Clarinet Emeritus will be bestowed on Mr. Cohen next summer upon retiring. He will be the first Cleveland Orchestra musician officially recognized with this honor.

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra congratulates Helen Regenstein Conductor Emeritus Pierre Boulez as a recipient of a 2015 Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. The recognition is given to “performers who, during their lifetimes, have made creative contributions of outstanding artistic significance to the field of recording.”

The Philadelphia Orchestra's conductor-in-residence, Cristian Macelaru, replaces Rafael Fruhbeck de Burgos for three concerts on March 12, 13, and 14 at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia. Fruhbeck, who last season celebrated conducting more than 150 concerts with the Orchestra in Philadelphia, passed away in June.

Music for the holidays by composer Robert Sirota will be featured in a special holiday concert, Songs of the Season, presented by The Metropolitan Museum of Art (1000 Fifth Avenue) in The Grace Rainey Rogers Auditorium tonight, December 19, 2014 at 7pm. The Met Museum Presents concert will include performances by The Choristers of The Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine led by conductor Malcolm J. Merriweather, soprano Mellissa Hughes, violist Nadia Sirota, and harpist Victoria Drake.

In early 2015, the celebrated mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato continues her multi-part Carnegie Hall Perspectives series showcasing her vocal creativity and multifaceted talents that range from programs of familiar and forgotten repertoire from the Baroque and bel canto eras to new works by Jake Heggie written expressly for her.

Carnegie Hall presents the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in three concerts conducted by Music Director Riccardo Muti, January 30 to February 1 in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. The series begins on Friday, January 30 at 8:00 p.m. with Muti leading a program featuring two portraits of the sea, Mendelssohn's Calm Sea and Prosperous Voyage Overture and Debussy's La mer, paired with Scriabin's Symphony No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 43, "The Divine Poem," in which the Russian composer's newfound mysticism and fascination with touching all of the senses through music is at the core of an extravagantly scored work.

The Italian Academy hosts the inaugural concert of *The Stefan Wolpe Fund featuring world premieres and works by Charles Wuorinen, Jonathan Dawe, Matthew Greenbaum and William Anderson tonight, October 30th at 8pm. Also on the program, a New York premiere for string sextet by Charles Wuorinen. Featured artists: JACK Quartet, pianist Steven Beck, Vox n Plux, violist Miranda Cuckson and cellist Jay Campbell. Segerstrom Center's Chamber Music Series continues on Saturday, January 31, 2015 with the acclaimed Szymanowski Quartet. For its third appearance, the Warsaw-based ensemble will perform traditional, popular and rare works by Polish composers Marcin Leopolita, Wac?aw of Szamotu?y, Krzysztof Penderecki and Graz?yna Bacewicz. Pianist Joseph Kalichstein makes his Center debut performing Chopin's Ballade No. 4 in F minor, Op. 52 and Dvor?a?k's Piano Quintet No. 2 in A Major, Op. 8.
