New Repertory Theatre Begins Season With BOSTON MARRIAGE 9/13

New Repertory Theatre, in residence at the Arsenal Center for the Arts, is thrilled to begin its 2010-2011 Season with David Mamet's clever, biting comedy Boston Marriage. Boston Marriage opens for the press on Monday, September 13, 2010 at 7:30pm and plays through Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Arsenal Center for the Arts in the Charles Mosesian Theater.

PTC@PLAY Play Festival of Staged Readings at the Philadelphia Theatre Company, 10/5-12

Philadelphia Theatre Company kicks off its 35th Anniversary Season with PTC@PLAY, a new play festival running October 5-21 at the Suzanne Roberts Theatre (Broad and Lombard Streets). The Festival, with staged readings of works by established playwrights as well as new voices, features Casa Cushman, by Leigh Fondakowski in conjunction with the Tectonic Theater Project, Strongman's Ghost by Jeffrey Hatcher, What We're Up Against by Theresa Rebeck, How To Write A New Book For The Bible by Bill Cain and Milk Like Sugar by Kirsten Greenidge. All readings are free with curtain time at 7:00 PM.

DR. JEKYLL AND MR. HYDE Plays the Bristol Riverside Theatre, 9/28-10/17

Lust, love and horror set the stage for the opening production of Bristol Riverside Theatre's 2010-11 mainstage season with Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde adapted by Jeffrey Hatcher, running September 28-October 17. Directed by BRT Artistic Director Keith Baker, the ensemble cast features Ezra Barnes, Sean Gormley, Eileen Ward, and Debra Whitfield.

Sweden's Goteborg Ballet Makes American Debut at Jacob's Pillow, 8/18-8/22

Swedish contemporary dance company, The Göteborg Ballet, makes its American debut at Jacob's Pillow August 18-22. The company will perform a full-length production, 3xBoléro; three diverse works each inspired in a different way by Maurice Ravel's classic score, 'Boléro.' The works that comprise 3xBoléro showcase twenty classically-trained dancers from this leading Nordic company and three leading European choreographers. While Ravel's score provides the artistic impetus to 3xBoléro, the pieces utilize a unique spectrum of composers and dance vocabularies, in musical styles ranging from minimalist electronica through full scale orchestral recordings.

Taproot Theatre Closes Newly Staged MAN OF LA MANCHA, 8/7

Experience Don Quixote's impossible dream like never before with Taproot Theatre's intimate new staging of Man of La Mancha. Featuring the story and songs of an immortal classic, this Tony Award-winning musical comes to the Taproot stage with fresh, acoustic arrangements. Don Quixote is mad... mad enough to dream an impossible dream while tilting after windmills with his trusty sidekick, Sancho Panza. Quixote's romantic quest is as crazy as he is.

Belle and Sebastian Headline Heineken City Arts Fest, 10/20-10/23

Seattle announces the first year line up of the Heineken City Arts Festival happening October 20th through the 23rd. Held in 18 iconic clubs, halls, and venues across the city, the festival is four days of performances and cross-genre collaborations within the city's core as Seattle heads indoors for the winter.

Siskiyou Institute Presents Real Vocal String Quartet at Paschal Winery, 9/9

Siskiyou Institute presents San Francisco based Real Vocal String Quartet on Thursday, September 9th at 8PM at Paschal Winery (1122 Suncrest Road, Talent). RVSQ explores West African rhythms, Latin influences and even some Afro Brazilian sounds as they weave their radically diverse backgrounds and sounds into something entirely new and different. Performance Network Theatre Presents WOMAN BEFORE A GLASS, 8/5-9/5

Performance Network Theatre announces its production of the larger-than-life comedy, 'Woman Before a Glass' by Lanie Robertson. Performances will begin August 5 and run through September 5, 2010. This one woman show stars actress Naz Edwards as the eccentric heiress and avid art lover, Peggy Guggenheim. It is directed by Malcolm Tulip ('Amadeus,' 'The Seafarer').
