For the third of their 2013 concert series the Firm will welcome back, from their wanderings in Europe, two of Adelaide's finest young singers: Robert and Kate Macfarlane, who'll be performing with the wonderful pianist Leigh Harrold on Monday September 2nd in Elder Hall. In recent years the Firm have presented Macfarlane and Harrold in performances of the three great Schubert song cycles that have left the critics enthralled.

New York Live Arts will present, as part of the Replay Series, works by Molissa Fenley spanning more than thirty years of her choreographic experiments in two varied programs October 2 - 5 at 7:30pm, with a lecture demonstration October 5 at 3:00pm. Fenley will present the world premiere of Found Object, the reconstructed solos The Floor Dances and Witches' Float, and the quartet Energizer, bridging her choreographic past with the present.
AARP reports that singer Linda Ronstadt has revealed that she suffers from Parkinson's disease, which has affected her ability to perform for some time. Diagnosed eight months ago, Ronstadt told the organization that she 'can't sing a note' and that she realizes now she had started to show symptoms years ago.

Two years into its second half-century, La MaMa, under the artistic direction of Mia Yoo, continues the omnivorous work of its founder, the late Ellen Stewart. Bryce Dessner, the critically acclaimed guitarist from The National and Clogs who has collaborated with Steve Reich, Philip Glass, David Lang, Sufjan Stevens and many others, is set to make his recorded debut as composer with Aheym, outNovember 5 on Anti- Records. The album finds Dessner collaborating with Grammy Award-winning Kronos Quartet, who are currently celebrating their 40th anniversary season.

Wendy Whelan, whom The New York Times has called 'America's greatest contemporary ballerina,' has danced with New York City Ballet for 29 years. With the company, she has mastered Balanchine's neo-classical repertory, dance classics such as Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake and created works with many of today's leading choreographers. Having reached the height of her field, Whelan, now 46, is embarking on a groundbreaking journey at an age when most ballerinas simply retire from the stage. She has launched Wendy Whelan New Works Initiative, which begins with Restless Creature, a suite of four duets, each with its own distinct style and artistry, created by and danced with Kyle Abraham, Joshua Beamish, Brian Brooks and Alejandro Cerrudo. The work will tour to nine cities this spring including New York, London and Boston from March 18-July 26.
