The LIVINGroom and Producing Artistic Director Laura Reitsma announce their 2017 season at Stage 773. Performances will take place over three Sundays during March, May, August, and November 2017. Performance dates are Sundays, March 12, 19, and 26, May 7, 14, and 21, August 13, 20, and 27, and November 5, 12, and 19. All performances are at 7:00 pm in the Cabaret Theater, Stage 773.

Theater Works presents the premiere of 3 NO TRUMP, a new play by local actor Cathy Dresbach opening January 13, 2017.  3 NO TRUMP is a comedy about cards and enduring friendship. The Ladies of the Club have met every other Thursday to play cards, chat, eat, drink and laugh. Sometimes they cry, and then laugh some more. They seek the answers to life's great questions: What's the response to a 2-club opening bid? Why can't the Phoenix Suns make the playoffs? Who is the evil genius that invented pantyhose? And it all gets recorded in their collective journal - a true "herstory" now in its 8th volume. Told with humor and heart, 3 NO TRUMP is the story of ordinary women with an extraordinary devotion to each other and the game of Bridge. Any resemblance to persons living or dead is entirely intentional. A charming new play by one the Valley's leading theatrical talents! 3 NO TRUMP will be on stage in the Gyder Theater January 13 - 29, 2017.

Three composers -- Chen-Hui Jen, Wang Jie, and Hannah Lash -- will each receive orchestral commissions of $15,000 as part of the League of American Orchestras' 2016 Women Composers Readings and Commissions program, which is administered by the American Composers Orchestra and EarShot and supported by the Virginia B. Toulmin Foundation.

Fruition will perform on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at the Boulder Theater.

The New York Philharmonic will present Beloved Friend - Tchaikovsky and His World: A Philharmonic Festival, January 24-February 11, 2017, featuring Russian-born Semyon Bychkov conducting works by Tchaikovsky as well as composers he was influenced by and whom he influenced, with piano soloists Yefim Bronfman and Kirill Gerstein.

The award show season officially kicked off with The Game Awards 2016. The Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles was filled with some of the most notable names in gaming, all on hand to celebrate the video game industry's biggest night.
