The School of American Ballet announces the Workshop Performance Benefit 2013 tonight, June 4, 2013, honoring Peter Martins' and Kay Mazzo's 30th Anniversary at SAB. Cocktails begin at 5:30pm at Morse Hall at the Juilliard School, 155 W. 65th Street, followed by the performance at 7pm at Lincoln Center's Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 155 W. 65th Street, and dinner and dancing at 9pm in the School's Studios in the Samuel B. and David Rose Building, 165 W. 65th Street, 5th floor. As part of its 33 Ballets in 3 Weeks showcase, the New York City Ballet staged Stravinsky's 'Firebird' alongside three short, recent compositions. The show had a few imperfections-but also had several bracing, spectacular moments.

Three dances based on the music of Richard Rodgers are enjoying a run at Lincoln Center. The results are uneven, but Rodgers's mastery is always apparent.

Horse Trade Theater Group and StrangeDog Theatre will present the New York Premiere of BOOTSTRAPS by Ben Clawson, June 13-22 at UNDER St. Marks (94 St. Marks Place). The production will be directed by Artem Yatsuov with Assistant Director Amanda Mae Cohen and will feature Scott Cagney, Rob Hille, Paul Romano, and Sebastian Smeureanu. The creative team will include Lighting Design by Rebecca Bickley, Costume Design by Jason Caballero, Set Design by Peter Martino, and Sound Design by Artem Yatsunov. The production will be Stage Managed by Keila Fontanez-La Salle.

New York City Ballet's 2013-14 Season at Lincoln Center will feature performances of 50 ballets in celebration of New York City Ballet's 50th anniversary at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, which has been the Company's home since the New York State Theater (now the David H. Koch Theater) opened in April of 1964.

The New York Philharmonic will present A Dancer's Dream: Two Works by Stravinsky, a multidisciplinary, theatrical reimagining of the ballets The Fairy's Kiss and Petrushka, created by Giants Are Small. Sara Mearns, New York City Ballet principal dancer, will star in the production, which will be conducted by Music Director Alan Gilbert, directed and designed by Doug Fitch, choreographed by Karole Armitage, and produced by Edouard Getaz - Thursday, June 27, 2013, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, June 28 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, June 29 at 8:00 p.m.

On Saturday, April 6 during New York City Ballet's evening performance at the Royal Opera House in Copenhagen, H.M. Queen Margreth II of Denmark, who was in attendance that evening, made NYCB Ballet Master in Chief Peter Martins a Commander of the Knights of Dannebrog, at a private reception during the first intermission of the evening.

Pacific Northwest Ballet is and should always be welcomed in New York.
