Lynn Nottage's Ruined, a powerful portrayal of the triumph of the human spirit in a war-torn country, will be co-produced this season by Intiman Theatre (opening July 9, 2010) and the Geffen Playhouse (opening September 15, 2010), the only two theatres in the country to host original cast members and the design team of director Kate Whoriskey's acclaimed world-premiere production.

The hilarious, new musical comedy, YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, based on the Oscar-nominated smash hit 1974 film, is the wickedly inspired re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic from the comic genius of Mel Brooks. Tony Award winners Roger Bart and Shuler Hensley reprise the roles of Dr. Frederick Frankenstein and The Monster in this hilarious new monster musical playing the Golden Gate Theatre June 30 - July 25, 2010.

Susan Stroman, director of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN, currently touring around the country, says she didn't think twice when Mel Brooks asked her to collaborate on YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN as a follow up to their hit, THE PRODUCERS. Stroman says, 'I just wanted to work with Mel again.'

Liev Schreiber is this year's recipient of the Drama Desk Award for Best Actor in a Play.

The New Mel Brooks Musical Young Frankenstein, a new musical comedy from the creative team of the 12-time Tony Award winning smash The Producers, opened on Broadway November 8th 2007 at the Hilton Theatre and ends its run at St. Louis' Fabulous Fox Theatre May 23.

Tony nominated Best Play TIME STANDS STILL will resume performances on Broadway at the Cort Theatre on September 23, 2010. The production will re-open on Thursday, October 7. The play is written by Pulitzer Prize winner Donald Margulies and is directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan.

I grew up looking forward to Friday nights, because that's when channel 30 would broadcast 'Chiller Theater', providing a burgeoning horror fan like myself with the chance to view all the creepy classics that sprang from the loins of Universal Studios during the 1930's and 40's. I was eleven years old when YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN played at the Westport cinema, and it was a treat to see my one of my favorite monsters lovingly parodied by Mel Brooks and Gene Wilder. So, it was with much anticipation that I looked forward to seeing the musical version of this beloved comedy from my childhood, and I think it's generally a very entertaining show, filled with a veritable slew of familiar gags, as well as some outstanding performances.

Variety is reporting that Christina Ricci will be making her Broadway debut im TIME STANDS STILL, replacing Alicia Silverstone, when the show comes back to Broadway this fall.
