TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, MATILDA THE MUSICAL, is coming to Memphis as part of the 2015-2016 Broadway Series. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and the Dodgers, the first national tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL will be coming to the Orpheum Theatre January 12 - 17, 2016. Tickets will go on sale to the public today, November 6th at 10:00 AM.

A magical blend of a Grimm fairy tale, like HANSEL AND GRETEL, a Dickensian novel like OLIVER, and a childhoodhood fable like Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY, and you have the makings of the new musical MATILDA, (also by Roald Dahl), that is playing at Shea's Buffalo Theatre.

I first became aware of author Roald Dahl from watching the film Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, although I didn't read the book it was based on, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, until later, finding it much darker in tone than the movie, but very entertaining nonetheless. After that exposure I remember watching the Tales of the Unexpected series on television, which was based on his short story collection of the same name. I never read Matilda, but I wish I had, and I think I'm going to in the near future, because we share something in common; the love of books of all kinds. MATILDA THE MUSICAL brings this tale to life in impressive fashion (book by Dennis Kelly, music & lyrics by Tim Minchin), with this story of a precocious little girl, whose parents don't understand her. It's a wondrous show, filled with memorable songs that snugly fit and advance the action, and an incredible cast that will have you rooting for them every step of the way. It's truly magical, and definitely a must-see, for families, and even those who don't have them. You have to see this glorious production that's currently playing at the Fox Theatre through November 1, 2015.

Matilda The Musical will launch a digital lottery on October 27, offering a limited number of $32 seats each day via MatildaLottery.com. Entries can be submitted the day of the preferred performance, by 11am for matinees or by 3pm for evening performances. Entrants may choose to be notified of winning via email or text, and winners may claim up to two tickets, which will be held for purchase at the box office.

Elton John and Lee Hall's adaptation of the acclaimed 2000 film, written by Hall and directed by Stephen Daldry, won multiple awards on both sides of the Atlantic, including 10 TONY AWARDS Billy Elliot THE MUSICAL LIVE, the long-running hit both on Broadway and in London's West End (where it is still playing), comes to THIRTEEN's GREAT PERFORMANCES tonight, October 23 at 9 p.m. on PBS. Universal Stage Productions, Working Title Films and Old Vic Productions are delighted to announce the first ever UK and Ireland tour of Billy Elliot the Musical comes to the Edinburgh Playhouse from 20th September to 22nd October 2016.

Casting has been announced for the St. Louis engagement of the First National Tour of MATILDA THE MUSICAL. Produced by the Royal Shakespeare Company and The Dodgers, MATILDA THE MUSICAL will play the Fabulous Fox Theatre tonight, October 21 - November 1.

New production images of the cast of the Royal Shakespeare Company's production of Matilda The Musical are now available. Evie Hone and Lizzie Wells have joined Anna-Louise Knight and Lara McDonnell in the title role, alongside Michael Begley (Mr Wormwood), Miria Parvin (Miss Honey) and Rebecca Thornhill (Mrs Wormwood). Craige Els will continue in the role of Miss Trunchbull. Matilda The Musical, which celebrates its 4th birthday on Sunday 25 October, is now booking at the Cambridge Theatre until 18 December 2016.

TIME Magazine's #1 Show of the Year, Matilda The Musical is coming to Hershey Theatre from Tuesday, November 10 through Sunday, November 15.
