Peter Nero to Play Harris Center, 11/12-13

"If he weren't such a superb musician, Peter Nero might be easy to dismiss as a mere great entertainer" (Philadelphia Inquirer). Harris Center at Folsom Lake College welcomes the legendary Peter Nero to Stage One for two separate programs over two nights with bassist Michael Barnett. Hailed as one of the premier interpreters of Gershwin, will perform The Gershwin Project, and Classic Connections, an evening dedicated to showing how jazz and classical standards are more closely related than people might think.

Baltimore Symphony Orchestra to Perform Gershwin's Greatest Hits, 7/25-26

Maestro Case Scaglione leads the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) in an evening of George Gershwin's Greatest Hits on Thursday, July 25 at 8 p.m. at the Music Center at Strathmore and Friday, July 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall. The program will feature the jazz-filled melodies of Rhapsody in Blue, featuring pianist Jon Nakamatsu, and the timeless music from An American in Paris. The Capitol Center Orchestra Presents Paul Whiteman Tribute Concert

As part of "A Moment in Time" Series, The Capitol Center Orchestra, under the direction of Clayton J. Poole, will pay tribute to Paul Whiteman the "King of Jazz" on Sunday January 15th at 4pm at the Capitol Center for the Arts. The performance will feature the original 1924 version of Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with critically acclaimed piano soloist Frederick Moyer and special guest vocalist Ms. Patty Barkas. Tickets start at $22.
