'Life and Acting' Book Launches at The Drama Book Shop, 3/18, 20-21

Jack Garfein, theater-film director and acting teacher, has written a book, LIFE and ACTING: Techniques for the Actor (Northwestern University Press). Mr. Garfein is one of the last living links to the Golden Age of The Actors Studio. Required reading for anyone interested in theatre, the book is being launched with a signing at The Drama Book Shop this Friday, March 18th, 5:30-7:00 pm.

Last night, May 23, the Drama Desk Association hosted the 55th Annual Drama Desk Awards ceremony at the F.H. LaGuardia Concert Hall at Lincoln Center. On Sunday March 22nd a sombre group of friends and family gathered in a small Hudson Valley town to bid a final farewell to Richardson. Liam Neeson was among the pallbearers who carried his wife's coffin into St Peter's Episcopal Church, near the home where the two married in 1994. He arrived with the couple's sons; his mother-in-law, actress Vanessa Redgrave, and his sister-in-law, actress Joely Richardson. Also among the mourners were Ralph Fiennes, Alan Rickman and Laura Linney.
