Sondheim's masterpiece is given riveting production and should not be missed.

COMPANY at Signature Theatre is electrifying and brilliant. Director Eric Schaeffer's return to COMPANY - after 20 years - may well be considered among his finest directorial achievements. Sondheim is often called 'Signature's signature.' COMPANY, now playing through June 30, shows us why. If we gave out stars at Broadway World, I'd give them ten for COMPANY.

This year, for the first time, theatre lovers in Washington and around the world were able to watch the nomination announcements live via webcast at theatrewashington.org, Facebook, or on the Livestream. Even though 'Cabaret' is of the 'tried and true' variety of musical theatre and could have, therefore, resulted in yet another ho-hum production, Keegan's intimate setting, attention to detail, and mostly strong casting among the leads make this production ultimately memorable and, at times, even a bit daring.

Don't let its title fool you - the Tony Award winning musical SPRING AWAKENING, playing now through July 8 at the Keegan Theatre in Dupont Circle, is no light-hearted walk in the park. It is an emotional and thought-provoking story, which, combined with a wonderful and haunting score, makes it an unforgettable experience.

The Keegan Theatre presents a special engagement of Spring Awakening, which opened June 2, 2012 at the Church Street Theater in Washington, DC. Winner of 8 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Spring Awakening is based on the play by Frank Wedekind, and features a book and lyrics by Steven Sater and music by Duncan Sheik. In July 2010, Signature Theatre continued its dedication to supporting new voices in the theater by awarding special Next Generation 'honoree grants' to composers Joshua Schmidt (Adding Machine, A Minister's Wife) and Joshua Rosenblum (Einstein's Dreams, Fermat's Last Tango) to develop new works for the theatre - and on December 4th at 8:00pm, both Mr. Schmidt and Mr. Rosenblum will be sharing selections from projects they are currently working on from their commissions.
