The University of Washington School of Drama, under the leadership of Executive Director Todd London, is announcing several new faculty appointments.

The New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) has received a two-year grant from Ford Foundation to support the expansion of its Immigrant Artist Mentoring Program to Detroit, MI; Newark, NJ; Oakland, CA; and San Antonio, TX.

Karamu President + CEO Tony F. Sias announced today complete casting for the regional premiere of Simply Simone: The Music of Nina Simone, created by Robert Neblett and David Grapes, with musical arrangements by Vince di Mura.

 Bristol Riverside Theatre spells F-U-N when it opens its Mainstage season with the multiple Tony Award-winner The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee with music and lyrics by William Finn, book by Rachel Sheinkin, and conceived by Rebecca Feldman, running September 19-October 15.  Directed by Amy Kaissar, the ensemble cast features Will Carlyon, Andrew Coleman, Leigha Kato, Kathryn McCreary, Joshua Morgan, Robert Smythe, Phebe Taylor, T.J. The Artistic Home will open its 2017-18 season with a lesser known, but wholly timely piece: WEDDING BAND: A LOVE/HATE STORY IN BLACK AND WHITE, by eminent African-American playwright and author Alice Childress. It will open to the press Sunday, October 29 at 7:00 pm, following previews from October 25 - 28.
