Edinburgh's theatre fans are spoilt for choice this season with a brilliant line-up of shows heading for the city's historic Playhouse between now and Christmas.

The new UK and Ireland Tour of LET IT BE has opened in Cardiff to a standing ovation on the first performance - with the first night being a sell-out at the Wales Millennium Centre.

It may not have the romantic sweep of 'Some Enchanted Evening' or the driving intensity of 'Don't Rain On My Parade,' but so far, the best new theatre song of this young season is a finely-crafted emotional shut-down carrying the unlikely title 'Michael In The Bathroom.'

The cast of Let It Be took a break from rehearsals in London this morning (Wednesday 8 August) to become Day Trippers on a Magical Mystery Tour to recreate one of The Beatles' most iconic images.

Now restored in full 4K digital resolution, this timeless icon of psychedelic pop culture combined the pioneering animation techniques of the time with dazzling visual invention, witty dialogue, and of course, glorious music, including "Eleanor Rigby," "When I'm Sixty-Four," "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds," "All You Need Is Love," and "It's All Too Much.'
