We'll all have a few days off during the Holiday season, and the Paley Center in New York has some great activities for both locals looking for something to do in the city and the many tourists who will soon be visiting NYC. A great Rolling Stones exhibit with photos never seen in the US before, a mash-up of the many different versions of A Christmas Carol, and Michael Feinstein discussion about the Gershwin songbook.

Lyric Opera of Chicago announced today that the respected stage, film and television actor Patrick Stewart will co-host The Second City Guide to the Opera on Saturday, January 5 with internationally renowned soprano and Lyric Opera creative consultant Renée Fleming. The opera-themed comedy-variety show will take place at 8 p.m. in the Ardis Krainik Theatre of the Civic Opera House, N. Wacker Drive and Madison Street.

Autism Speaks, the world's leading autism science and advocacy organization, announced today the launch of "Sound Off For Autism Speaks". This exciting fundraising effort will give fans the opportunity to order a limited number of custom-recorded messages from Ed Asner, Will Ferrell, Morgan Freeman, Carrie Fisher, Tom Hanks, Derek Jeter, Leonard Nimoy, William Shatner, Patrick Stewart and Betty White in return for a $299 donation. All proceeds will support autism research and advocacy efforts.

The Northern Stage Company of White River Junction, Vermont announced today that the Board of Directors and Founding Artistic Director Brooke Ciardelli have agreed that the current production will be her last with the company. Ms. Ciardelli has led the artistic team at Northern Stage since its formation in 1997, guiding it through 16 seasons of critically acclaimed professional theater. She has served in many capacities for the Company including Artistic Director since its inception, director of more than 50 percent of the main stage productions, as well as serving as Managing Director and CEO for many seasons and as a member of the Board of Directors.

Broadway stars Emily Padgett and Matthew Hydzik will star as "Alex" and "Nick" in the world premiere of FLASHDANCE - THE MUSICAL, the stage adaptation of the 1983 hit film that defined a generation. Padgett and Hydzik will be joined on stage by the legendary Rachelle Rak in the role of "Tess." Sergio Trujillo, director and choreographer for the production returned to the home of FLASHDANCE and launch of the world premiere, Pittsburgh's Heinz Hall, to announce the lead casting from a press conference. Mayor Luke Ravenstahl and Kevin McMahon, CEO of Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, were also on hand to welcome the cast and creative team to Pittsburgh and to make a proclamation, naming January 1, 2013 as FLASHDANCE DAY. Adult Swim announced today it has ordered another season of Robot Chicken, the Emmy(R) winning series by creators and executive producers Seth Green and Matthew Senreich. Season six is currently airing all new episodes on Sunday nights at midnight (ET/PT) on Adult Swim, featuring an all-star voice cast. Robot Chicken season seven will premiere in 2013.
