South Coast Repertory's Artistic Directors, David Emmes and Martin Benson, today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Richard Greenberg's Our Mother's Brief Affair, about two adult siblings who reunite to tend to their elderly mother and their astonishment to learn about her long-ago love affair. Commissioned by SCR and directed by Pam MacKinnon, Our Mother's Brief Affair will run from April 3 through May 3 on the Segerstrom Stage. Low-priced previews are available from April 3 through April 9. Opening night is April 10. South Coast Repertory's 12th annual Pacific Playwrights Festival (PPF) will shine the spotlight on seven new plays written by America's finest writers. Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year's Festival will take place during the May 1 through May 3 weekend and will feature five staged readings and two fully-produced World Premieres on South Coast Repertory's Segerstrom and Julianne Argryos Stages. Featuring Broadway stars Kathleen Chalfant (Wit, Angels in America), Terry Beaver (Henry IV, The Last Night of Ballyhoo), Ellen McLaughlin (Angels in America) and Carla Harting (Eurydice),joined by Helen Hedman and James Slaughter, A Delicate Balance runs February 6-March 15, 2009 at Arena Stage in Crystal City. The press opening performance is Thursday, February 12, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. 'Albee is fearless about writing stories that get us in the solar plexus, and he does so with his brilliant wit, dynamic storytelling and rigorous use of language,' shares Artistic Director Molly Smith. 'His work draws the best artists, and with this production audiences are fortunate to have an enormously strong cast and creative team-approved by Albee himself.' A frequent director of Albee plays, MacKinnon has directed The Play About the Baby, the world premieres of Peter and Jerry: Homelife and The Zoo Story (now titled At Home at the Zoo) and Occupant, as well as the U.S. regional and European premieres of The Goat, or Who Is Sylvia?

The previously announced Kathleen Chalfant (Obie Award-winner for Wit) and Ellen McLaughlin (original Angel in Broadway's Angels in America) will be joined by Terry Beaver, Carla Harting, Helen Hedman and James Slaughter for the upcoming production of Edward Albee's provocative drama A Delicate Balance. Directed by Pam MacKinnon, A Delicate Balance will officially open February 12, 2009 at 8:00 p.m. at Arena Stage in Crystal City. The show will run February 6 through March 15, 2009. Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Interim Managing Director Kevin Maifeld, concludes it inaugural American Cycle series with Adrian Hall's adaptation of one of the greatest political novels ever written, Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men.

Intiman Theatre announces the schedule of free public programs for its upcoming American Cycle production of Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men, which will run September 26-November 8 at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center. The play, which will be performed by an ensemble of 18 actors, is adapted by Adrian Hall and directed by Pam MacKinnon.

Intiman Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Bartlett Sher and Interim Managing Director Kevin Maifeld, concludes it inaugural American Cycle series with Adrian Hall's adaptation of one of the greatest political novels ever written, Robert Penn Warren's All the King's Men. The production is directed by Pam MacKinnon and stars John Procaccino (leading an ensemble of 18 actors) as Willie Stark. Performances will begin at the Intiman Playhouse, 201 Mercer Street at Seattle Center, on Friday, September 26 and continue through Saturday, November 8. The opening night performance is Friday, October 3 at 8 pm.

Matt Bogart's official website is reporting that the actor will be part of the Arena Stage cast of Legacy of Light from May 8th to June 14th. Matt is slated to play the roles of Saint Lambert/Lance in this world premiere drama by Karen Zacarías, directed by Molly Smith at Arena Stage in Crystal City, VA.
