Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park Unveils New Logo

Today the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park announced that it will cap its 2015-16 season with the launch of a vibrant new logo and brand identity. The new look is the most significant change to the Tony Award-winning theatre's visual identity in 25 years.

New Drama SATCHEL PAIGE AND THE KANSAS CITY SWING to Play Cincinnati Playhouse

SATCHEL PAIGE AND THE KANSAS CITY SWING, an exciting and inspirational new drama by playwrights Trey Ellis and Ricardo Khan, heads to the mound to close the Playhouse's 2015-16 Marx Theatre lineup April 23 through May 21 … just in time for baseball season in Cincinnati. Their collaboration about the Tuskegee Airmen, Fly, was a smash Playhouse hit in 2013.

Cincinnati Playhouse to Present THE GARDEN OF RIKKI TIKKI TAVI

Rudyard Kipling's classic story about a mongoose, bird and muskrat who band together against a cobra to save their garden home brings the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2015-16 Off the Hill series for families to a close with performances from April 16 through May 22. Adapted by award-winning playwright Y York, THE GARDEN OF RIKKI TIKKI TAVI is a delightful comedy about sharing and cooperation recommended for audiences ages 5 and up.

Cincinnati Playhouse Extends TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park is extending its thought-provoking, visually exciting production of Harper Lee's beloved story TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD due to ticket demand. Christopher Sergel's timeless and timely adaptation, which had been set to close on April 3, now will run through April 10. The extension adds five new performances: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 7; 8 p.m. Friday, April 8; 4 and 8 p.m. Saturday, April 9; and 2 p.m. Sunday, April 10.

2016 Overture Awards Winners Announced!

The Cincinnati Arts Association is pleased to announce the winners of its Overture Awards Competition, held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at the Aronoff Center's Jarson-Kaplan Theater, and the winner of its new Arts Educator Award for Excellence in Arts Instruction. The competition awarded $4,000 to six area students for education and training, with 18 runners-up each winning $1,000, while the Arts Educator Award winner received $2,500 and two finalists were awarded $500 each.

'LITTLE SHOP,' DISGRACED & More Set for Cincinnati Playhouse's 2016-17 Season

Artistic Director Blake Robison announced the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2016-17 season today with a richly layered collection of world premieres, a joyously entertaining musical, adaptations of beloved novels, a comedy-tinged detective caper, new and classic dramas, a salute to a bestselling Ohio author and the return of The Second City with a holiday-themed revue. The Playhouse is celebrating its 57th season as the region's preeminent professional theatre and Robison's fifth season as artistic director.

Sutton Foster, Kristin Chenoweth, Vanessa Williams & More to Join Cincinnati Pops During 2016-17 Season

The Cincinnati Pops Orchestra and Conductor John Morris Russell are pleased to announce the Pops' 2016-2017 season, to be performed at Downtown Cincinnati's historic Taft Theatre, the Orchestra's 'home away from home' while Cincinnati Music Hall undergoes a major renovation during the 2016-17 season. (The Pops will return to the renovated Music Hall for the 2017-18 season.) The star-studded season is a testament to the Orchestra's steadfast commitment to innovation and extraordinary artistry. Entering his sixth season as Conductor of the world-famous Cincinnati Pops, Mr. Russell introduces guest artists and concert programs that continue to develop the wide variety of orchestral programming. The Orchestra also announces its summer 2016 concerts, to take place both at the Taft Theatre and Riverbend Music Center.

Cincinnati Playhouse's Free Reading Series to Feature Works by McNally, Rebeck & More

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park will launch a free reading series of works by playwrights Lauren Gunderson, Terrence McNally and Theresa Rebeck, all of whom have productions in the Playhouse's current season. The readings will take place on selected Monday evenings beginning March 7 and continuing through April 4.

Jane Austen's EMMA Comes to Cincinnati Shakespeare Company

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company continues its season with Jane Austen's "Emma" by Jon Jory. This production is directed by Kelly Mengelkoch. This production features Cincinnati Shakespeare's Resident Ensemble members including Courtney Lucien and Jeremy Dubin. Sponsors for this productions are LPK and Graydon Head.

CSC Sets $17 Million Campaign to Build New Theatre

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company (CSC) announced today a $17 million capital campaign titled 'Making History Unexpected' to construct a new theatre at 12th and Elm Streets, in the heart of Over-the-Rhine. The new facility will incorporate space for modern theatrical technology, increased seating capacity and lobby, expanded education and community outreach opportunities, as well as on-site production areas and administrative offices. The theatre will also become the 'finale' of a planned 'Classical Arts Corridor' connecting Music Hall, Memorial Hall, the School for Creative and Performing Arts, and Washington Park.

Cincinnati Playhouse Presents HIGH SCHOOL ALIEN, Now thru 10/30

The Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's popular Off the Hill series for families launches its 2015-16 season with the world premiere of Allyson Currin's HIGH SCHOOL ALIEN, which was commissioned by the Playhouse in 2013. Recommended for ages 7 and up, HIGH SCHOOL ALIEN will tour to Tristate community venues from tonight, Sept. 26 through Oct. 30.

Cincinnati Playhouse to Present MAD RIVER RISING

Dana Yeaton's sweeping, compelling MAD RIVER RISING brings a flood of forces - natural, generational and emotional - to the Cincinnati Playhouse's Robert S. Marx Theatre Oct. 17 through Nov. 14. Family patriarch and farmer Angus Stewart, the anchor of Yeaton's captivating drama, escapes from his nursing home determined to save the land he loves from the rising tide of urbanization.
