The Ordway to Present 2014 FLINT HILLS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL, 5/27-6/1

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today the lineup for the 14th annual Flint Hills International Children's Festival from May 27-June 1. Minnesota's signature arts festival for children and families-one of the largest of its kind in the nation-features local, regional and international artists representing 25 countries on seven indoor and outdoor stages. The Festival fills downtown Saint Paul's Rice Park, Landmark Center, Landmark Plaza, Hamm Plaza, Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, and the Lehr and Lab Theaters.

Minnesota Opera with the LA Opera Presents THE MAGIC FLUTE, Now thru 4/27

Minnesota Opera is pleased to announce its co-production of a dynamic and engaging staging of Mozart's The Magic Flute with LA Opera. Mozart's masterful comedy about love, truth and the pursuit of enlightenment is richly reimagined in this boundary-busting production. Connecting the tale's enduring meaning with modern metaphor, this extraordinary staging combines live performance and film animation to delve deeply into the opera's surreal magic, odd characters and crazy love.

TU Dance's 10th Anniversary Performance Set for Minneapolis' Ordway, 5/10

The Ordway will present TU Dance in performance for one night only, May 10, 2014, in honor of the 10th anniversary of the celebrated St. Paul-based company founded by Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands. This special performance includes Hikari, an Ordway-commissioned world premiere by choreographer Uri Sands in collaboration with master wood block print artist Hiroki Morinoue.

Blue Man Group Coming to The Ordway, 4/29-5/4

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts announced today that Blue Man Group will bring its tour to Saint Paul for one week only from April 29 to May 4, 2014. The theatrical tour features brand new content highlighted by classic Blue Man favorites. Blue Man Group boosts the Ordway experience as it takes over the stage for the first time.

Reg E. Cathey Joins Cast of EXODUS, Playing Fraunces Tavern Museum Flag Gallery Today

REG E. CATHEY (House of Cards, The Wire) joins the cast of EXODUS: DREAMS OF THE PROMISED LAND IN ANTEBELLUM AMERICA, playing multiple roles including Solomon Northrup (Twelve Years a Slave) and the Abolitionist Frederick Douglass. The cast also includes ROSALYN COLEMAN WILLIAMS (The Mountaintop, Seven Guitars, The Piano Lesson) in multiple roles including Elizabeth Keckley (familiar to audiences from the movie Lincoln), JENNIFER RAU as Abolitionist Angelina Grimke, and the noted vocal ensemble THE WESTERN WIND. Conceived by Salon/Sanctuary's Founding Artistic Director Jessica Gould to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Emancipation Proclamation, EXODUS was originally presented last year in a sold-out performance staged at the historic Fraunces Tavern, the oldest structure in Manhattan.

Ordway Center Hosts SOUND OF MUSIC Sing-a-Long Today

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts previously announced that Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music would return to the Ordway for a third year in a row. Today, Mar. 22, the Ordway will present two screenings of the popular film at 11:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $27.

Woodbury Community Theatre Presents THE DROWSY CHAPERONE, Now thru 3/30

Pacific Northwest Ballet Presents DIRECTOR'S CHOICE, Now thru 3/23

For DIRECTOR'S CHOICE, the fourth program of Pacific Northwest Ballet's 2013-2014 season, Artistic Director Peter Boal selects from his roster of acquisitions and increases them by one: The captivating mixed-bill program will feature a much-anticipated world premiere by Alejandro Cerrudo, resident choreographer of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago. The program also reprises audience favorites TAKE FIVE...More or Less, Broadway-darling Susan Stroman's sunny slice of jazz-infused Dave Brubeck fun; and Susan Marshall's distinctive aerial duet, Kiss. Rounding out the lineup is Molissa Fenley's State of Darkness, a tour-de-force solo performance set to Stravinsky's riot-inducing The Rite of Spring. DIRECTOR'S CHOICE runs for seven performances only, today, March 14 through 23 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall.

EVITA, DAMN YANKEES, Creole Choir of Cuba, Diavolo and More Set for The Ordway's 2014-15 Season

The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts unveiled its 2014-2015 Season this evening during a standing-room-only celebration that included live pop-up performances, spectacular costumes and festive refreshments, underscoring that the Ordway provides a unique experience with every show. The Ordway celebrates the performing arts with a rich variety of offerings that includes Broadway shows, world music and dance concerts, family events and a special St. Patrick's Day performance in the new Ordway Concert Hall.
