Shakespeare on the Sound Stages AS YOU LIKE IT, Now thru 6/30

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, tonight, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

BUDDY, THE BUDDY HOLLY STORY, rocks its way to Saint Paul's Ordway Music Theater June 11 - 16, 2013, starring a pair of high-energy actors taking turns on covering the title character of this national touring company's production. Kurt Jenkins and Andy Christopher each play Buddy Holly and opposite performances the other portrays Tommy Allsup. Mandy Patinkin and Pasadena POPS Kick Off Zev Yaroslavsky Signatures Series Tonight

To coincide with the 20-year anniversary of the Ford Partnership Program, which nurtures locally based artists and arts organizations, the Los Angeles County Arts Commission presents the inaugural Zev Yaroslavsky Signatures Series. This two-concert program benefiting the Ford Theatre Foundation pairs world-renowned performers with a local artistic treasure, celebrating Los Angeles as a destination for world-class artists, who find here both collaboration with, and inspiration from, celebrated local artists.

The Arts Partnership to Break Ground on New Ordway Concert Hall, 6/19

The Arts Partnership (Ordway Center for the Performing Arts, Minnesota Opera, The Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and The Schubert Club) will break ground on the new Concert Hall at the Ordway on June 19, 2013 at 10:30am. The Concert Hall will replace the existing 306-seat McKnight Theatre. The groundbreaking is the culmination of a dream that began in 2011. Hard demolition of the McKnight Theatre will begin in July.

Kat Ramsburg to Star in 5th Avenue Theatre's HAIRSPRAY; Full Cast Announced!

The 5th Avenue Theatre has announced complete casting for Hairspray in Concert, featuring some of Seattle's favorite musical theatre stars and the powerful voices of the 250-member Seattle Men's Chorus. Celebrating the 10th anniversary of Hairspray's 2002 Broadway debut, this unique concert event will play for six very special performances of glorious and irreverent John Waters-inspired wackiness (Friday-Sunday, June 20-23). In 2002, Hairspray was The 5th Avenue Theatre's first world premiere musical to head for Broadway where it won the 2003 Tony Award for Best Musical and launched The 5th's unprecedented track record for sending new works to New York. Now the smash hit musical comes home, as audiences have never seen it before.

A year ago, Alex FInke was a college girl at the University of Michigan. While many of her contemporaries are likely still looking for a job or working their way up from the lower rungs of the corporate ladder, Finke is sailing through a career on the fast track, and she feels incredibly fortunate to be there. NEXT TO NORMAL Begins 5/31 in LA With Bets Malone, Robert Townsend and More

LA MIRADA THEATRE FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS & MC COY RIGBY ENTERTAINMENT will present the Southern California regional theatre premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical, NEXT TO NORMAL, music by Tom Kitt, book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey, musical direction by Darryl Archibald and directed by Nick DeGruccio. Mary McColl Extends Contract as Actors' Equity Association's Executive Director

Actors' Equity Association ("AEA" or "Equity") today announced the extension of Mary McColl's contract as executive director for another three-year term, effective January 2014. The decision was a unanimous vote at a special meeting of the Union's national council. Ms. McColl was named to the post in October 2010 and began her role in January 2011.

Minneapolis Musical Theatre's SUNSET BOULEVARD Opens 5/31

Sunset Boulevard, Minneapolis Musical Theatre's (MMT) production of the Broadway hit based on the 1950 Oscar-winning movie about faded glory and unfulfilled ambition, debuts May 31-June 23, 2013 at Hennepin Theatre Trust's New Century Theatre (Street Level of City Center in downtown Minneapolis). Directed by Steven Meerdink, MMT's artistic director, this is the second production in the partnership between Hennepin Theatre Trust and Minneapolis Musical Theatre.
