Jodi Benson, best known for her voice work as 'Ariel' in Disney's The Little Mermaid and for creating the role of 'Polly' in Crazy for You, joins conductor Steven Reineke and Broadway star Hugh Panaro in Toronto for three concerts with The Toronto Symphony Orchestra. BWW is thrilled to present this exclusive Q&A with Ms. Benson, where she talks about becoming 'Ariel', being a Mom and what she hopes to do next.

Louise Pitre will take on the role of Iris Langdon in the new comedy (with a bit of music) BEAmused as part of Theatre Orangeville's New Play Development Program. The piece will be directed by Adam Brazier (last seen on Broadway as Walter Hartwright in Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber's musical The Woman In White).

YOUTH AMERICA GRAND PRIX (YAGP) - the world's largest international ballet education initiative -begins its 2011-2012 season with the premiere of its new documentary, 'First Position' at the 36th annual Toronto International Film Festival on Sunday, September 11th. There will be an additonal screening on Saturday, September 17th.

The event, Deep In a Dream - the Life and Music of Chet Baker features readings by NAACP Image Award Nominated author James Gavin of passages from the biography (just out in paperback), interwoven with live music well associated with the talented yet troubled Baker, who died a mysterious death on a street in Amsterdam in 1988. Jazz singer Spider Saloff and Bay Area trumpeter Erik Jekabson re-create Baker's trumpet and vocal solos.
