Broadway starlet Carly Rose Sonenclar may not have taken the top spot on THE X FACTOR, but she undoubtedly went out with a bang. Sonenclar performed two songs on last night's finale, including a duet with winner Tate Stevens.

THE X FACTOR named Tate Stevens its winner tonight on part two of the FOX show's season finale. After knock-out performances of Mariah Carey's version of 'All I Want For Christmas' and a duet with Stevens on Miley Cyrus' 'The Climb', Broadway star and singing sensation Carly Rose Sonenclar took the second spot, followed by Fifth Harmony in third. MTV today announced One Direction (OneDirection.MTV.com) has been selected by its team of music staffers as 2012's Artist of the Year, ending a week long multiscreen celebration in which Carly Rae Jepsen's (CarlyRaeJepsen.MTV.com) Call Me Maybe was named Song of the Year.

As the second season of THE X FACTOR on FOX heads towards the season grande finale, which will include contestants Fifth Harmony (mentored by Simon Cowell), Carly Rose Sonenclar (mentored by Britney Spears) and Tate Stevens (mentored by L.A.
