Producer Nathaniel Hill announced today that CLEOPATRA, a unique Off-Broadway immersive musical experience will begin an open-ended residency at Chelsea Music Hall (407 W 15th Street), a new venue opening underneath Chelsea Market. Directed and choreographed by JT Horenstein, the new pop musical features music and lyrics by Jeff Daye and lyrics by Laura Kleinbaum. The premier offering of the new venue, which will officially open to the public in October, CLEOPATRA will begin performances on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 with an official opening night on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Uncle Vanya is directed by Paige Rogers, Cutting Ball Theater's co-founder and recently exited Artistic Director, the culminating project of Rogers' tenure at Cutting Ball's creative helm. Rapid Lemon Productions will present Variations on Sacrifice this summer as part of their 2018 season. A full production of 11 ten-minute plays appearing for two weeks will be followed by a third weekend of staged readings of 8 more short plays. All were chosen from local authors' submissions to the 14th annual Variations Project.

Hunter College President Jennifer J. Raab announced today the inaugural production of the Hunter Theater Project, the New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA at the Frederick Loewe Theater at Hunter College (E. 68th Street and Lexington Avenue), directed by Richard Nelson. Translated byRichard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky. This production is the first time renowned Russian literature translators Pevear and Volokhonsky will have a work premiere in New York City, following the show's world premiere at The Old Globe in San Diego, California. Previews for UNCLE VANYA begin Friday, September 7. The production runs through Sunday, October 14, with an official press opening on Sunday, September 16. Tickets are on sale now.

Producer Peter Dunn (So You Think You Can Belt, TRL: Total Request Live, Rise Up, GAYS: The Series) is teaming up with Samantha Rhea Parrish to produce a tribute show for music superstar, Ed Sheeran on Saturday June 9th at 10PM at The West End Lounge. The night is entitled Sheer Ed 2.0 and will be presented with a live band, phenomenal vocalists, and Ed's catalogue of music from new arrangements, to sizzling mashups, to emotional performances of his music. It will be a night of music, stories, heart and soul.
