In PIPELINE, playwright Dominique Morisseau reflects on the cracks in the inner-city public-school system, and the ways in which it often functions as a school to prison pipeline for young black men, without vilifying the system's participants. It's a skillfully crafted balance that demonstrates how the brokenness of the system is disheartening for teachers and students alike. And under the direction of Cheryl Lynn Bruce, Victory Gardens Theater's ensemble makes this a very human struggle.

Produced in partnership with BroadwayHD, PIPELINE depicts a mother's hopes for her son and their clash with an educational system rigged against him. The powerful work was originally staged at Lincoln Center Theater in 2017 to wide critical acclaim, and was hailed as “potent and intensely acted” by the New York Times, and confirmed Dominique Morisseau's “reputation as a playwright of piercing eloquence”.
Producer Peter Dunn (So You Think You Can Belt, TRL: Total Request Live, GAYS: The Series) is coming out from behind the scenes and hitting the stage for a one- night- only performance of Thank You, Next - a late night with Peter William Dunn' at The West End Lounge, on Saturday February 10th at 8 PM. The night will be raising money for The Trevor Project, a non profit organization focused on suicide prevention efforts among LGBT. The evening will feature a variety of tribute performances by artists from across the entertainment spectrum, with music ranging from show tunes to pop mashups from standards to new arrangements and original music-all in honor of Dunn's upcoming birthday.
