WAR HORSE, Tony Awards, et al. Nominated for 2012 Producers Guild Awards

The Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced today the motion picture and long-form television nominations for the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards. The categories include: The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures; The Producers Guild of America Producer of the Year Award in Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures; and The David L. Wolper Producer of the Year Award in Long-Form Television. The documentary film category and other television category nominations were already announced by the Guild in December 2011.

The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame Committee has selected a groundbreaking production team, an iconic executive, an internationally renowned TV variety show host, a leading actor, an award-winning lighting designer, a multiple Emmy®-winning producer, and one of television's most beloved comedy couples as the newest inductees into the Hall of Fame, announced Television Academy Chairman and CEO John Shaffner.

Comedy Central's 2nd Annual THE COMEDY AWARDS to Air 5/6

COMEDY CENTRAL, a division of Viacom Media Networks (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B), announced today that the second annual 'The Comedy Awards' will return to New York City. The multi-platform, annual event dedicated to honoring and celebrating the world of comedy, will be taped at New York City's Hammerstein Ballroom on Saturday, April 28, 2012 and will premiere on COMEDY CENTRAL on Sunday, May 6, 2012.

PBS Features Hugh Laurie, San Francisco Ballet, et al. in Fall 2011 Schedule

PBS raises the curtain on a new fall season celebrating the arts, exploring America's 'Great Experiment' with PROHIBITION, and traveling to the edges of the universe with NOVA's 'The Fabric of the Cosmos.' Also on tap this season, PBS will premiere new shows from MASTERPIECE featuring award-winning actors including Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman and Bill Nighy; a look at prolific director Woody Allen on AMERICAN MASTERS; and a special tribute event commemorating the 10th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Rosie Perez Joins David Hyde Pierce in MTC's CLOSE UP SPACE this Winter

The Manhattan Theatre Club has announced full casting for the upcoming world premiere of CLOSE UP SPACE by Molly Smith Metzler, directed by Leigh Silverman. Joining the cast is Academy Award & Emmy Award nominee Rosie Perez (Fearless, The Ritz) as famous author 'Vanessa Finn Adams.' Completing the cast are Jessica DiGiovanni (Off-Broadway Debut) and Colby Minifie (The Pillowman, Landscape of the Body) as well as already announced Tony Award and four-time Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce ('Frasier', Curtains) and Obie Award winner Michael Chernus (The Aliens, In The Wake).

David Hyde Pierce to Lead THE LANDING at Vineyard Theatre; Scott Ellis to Direct

Tony and Emmy Award-winning actor David Hyde Pierce has been cast in the Vineyard Theatre's Developmental Lab Production of THE LANDING (previously titled 'Andra') -- a collection of three related one-act musicals written by the celebrated composer John Kander and his new collaborator, Greg Pierce - to be directed by Scott Ellis, with David Loud as musical director, it has been announced by artistic director Douglas Aibel and co-artistic director Sarah Stern. THE LANDING will be presented in the spring of 2012 at The Vineyard (108 E. 15 St.).

THE JUDY SHOW Extends At DR2 Theatre 10/22

The Judy Show - My Life As A Sitcom, the new comedy starring Judy Gold, will extend its previously announced limited engagement at Off-Broadway's DR 2 Theatre (103 E 15th Street).

The Judy Show - My Life As A Sitcom, (www.JudyGold.com) a new comedy written by and starring Judy Gold, will play The DR2 Theater, (103 E 15th Street) beginning June 30th with the official opening scheduled for July 6th, it was announced today by producers Daryl Roth and Eva Price.
