MCC Postpones Preview of 'Fifty Words'; Opening Moved to 10/1

MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, Artistic Directors; William Cantler, Associate Artistic Director; Blake West, Executive Director) today announced that, due to injuries sustained this week by the two stars, a preview performance of Tony Award-winner Michael Weller's new play Fifty Words, was cancelled (Wednesday night) and the opening night has been moved.

Behind the Emerald Curtain, the exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the Broadway smash WICKED, will welcome original cast members Norbert Leo Butz and Michelle Federer on Saturday, September 27. Due to a scheduling conflict, the previously announced Eden Espinosa will be a guest on a future date TBD.

MCC THEATER will present the World Premiere Production of Michael Weller's Fifty Words, under the direction of Austin Pendleton. The two-character play stars Elizabeth Marvel and Norbert Leo Butz. Performance began on September 10 and continues through October 25, with an opening night set for Sunday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m.

The two-character play begins performances at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street, NYC) on September 10 and continues through October 25, with an opening night set for Sunday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m.
