Five new play readings and two world premiere productions make up South Coast Repertory's 2013 Pacific Playwrights Festival. The offerings range from a story about a family of grifters to the tale of a high school reunion gone horribly wrong.

Victory Gardens continues its 2012-13 season with the Midwest Premiere of The Whale, written by Ensemble Playwright Samuel D. Hunter and directed by Joanie Schultz. The production runs April 5 - May 5, 2013 at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park. The Press Opening is Monday, April 15, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.
INTAR Announces The Cast For LUCY LOVES ME

INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) today announced the cast for the first of the two plays for its Winter/Spring 2013 season: Lucy Loves Me, written by Migdalia Cruz, directed by Lou Moreno, will star Annie Henk, Bertha Leal, and Gerardo Rodriguez.

INTAR (Lou Moreno, Artistic Director/John McCormack, Executive Director) today announced the two plays for its Winter/Spring 2013 season: Lucy Loves Me, written by Migdalia Cruz, directed by Lou Moreno, and Pinkolandia written by Andrea Thome, directed by Jose Zayas. Lucy Loves Me will begin performances Off-Broadway Friday February 22nd continuing through March 24th. Pinkolandia begins performances Friday, May 3rd and will continue through May 26th.
Both Lucy Loves Me and Pinkoldandia are products of INTAR's legendary Maria Irene Fornés Hispanic Playwrights-in-Residence Laboratory (MIF HPRL).
Teatro Bravo Welcomes New Artistic Director Ricky Araiza

Magic Theatre is thrilled to welcome back renowned playwright Octavio Solis for the National New Play Network Rolling World Premiere of Se Llama Cristina, directed by Producing Artistic Director Loretta Greco and running January 23 - February 17. After the Magic Theatre production, the rolling world premiere will continue with productions at Kitchen Dog Theatre in Dallas, TX and at The Theater @ Boston Court in Pasadena, CA.

Happy Birthday Daphne Rubin-Vega! Rubin Vega is a two-time Tony and Drama Desk nominee and recipient of the Theater World, Obie, Blockbuster awards and was recently nominated for an Independent Spirit Award for her role in Jack Goes Boating. She is perhaps best known for the roles she originated, including Mimi (RENT) and Conchita (Anna in the Tropics), both Pulitzer Prize winning Broadway shows for which she was nominated for the Tony award. She also originated the role of Rahmi (Gum), Sofia (Nilo Cruz' Two Sisters and a Piano), Canary Mary (Suzan-Lori Parks' f**king A, Lucille Lortel nomination) and Lucy (Jack Goes Boating) at the Public Theater, as well as starred in the Broadway revivals of The Rocky Horror Picture Show (Magenta) and Les Mis, ('Fantine') and most recently, The New Group's Blood From a Stone ('Yvette') opposite Ethan Hawke.'
Road Less Traveled Productions' RAICES Begins 11/18

For the first time Road Less Traveled Productions and RLTP Ensemble member Victoria Pérez will join forces to bring a unique play-reading series to WNY. The RAICES series will consist of 4 plays written by Latino playwrights and dealing with the Latino experience.
