'The Mission' Wins At South Florida Theatre Festival

New Theatre is dedicated to the development and production of new works in South Florida and has brought the national premieres of more than 30 plays by early and mid-career American playwrights to South Florida, including New Theatre commissioned Anna in the Tropics by Nilo Cruz, winner of a Pulitzer Prize for Drama and The Steinberg Award, and Catherine Bush's Just A Kiss, which was both a finalist for The Steinberg and The Osborn Award in 2007, among others.

Classic Stage Company Presents Patinkin In 'The Tempest'

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Jessica R. Jenen, will open its 2008-09 season with Tony Award winner Mandy Patinkin starring in William Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST, to be directed by Kulick. Performances begin Wednesday, September 3. The official press opening is Thursday, September 18.

Since its creation in 1998, PPF has grown into one of the most important festivals of new scripts in the United States. This year's Festival will take place during the May 2 through May 4 weekend with a workshop production, four staged readings and two fully-staged World Premieres on South Coast Repertory's two major stages.
