John Cleese’s Fawlty Towers – The Play has announced that it is extending its West End run for a second time. Currently playing at London’s Apollo Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue, the critically acclaimed production will now run until Saturday 1 March 2025.
Fifty years since it was first recorded at BBC Television Centre in 1974, the “greatest British sitcom of all time” (Radio Times) Fawlty Towers, has been adapted for the West End stage by comedy legend John Cleese and will premiere at London’s Apollo Theatre Shaftesbury Avenue on Wednesday 15 May.
As the tenth cast is announced today, Agatha Christie’s Witness for the Prosecution will also extend its run at London County Hall through to 29 September 2024.
Fiery Angel and Royal & Derngate Northampton present Agatha Christie's Love From A Stranger, directed by Lucy Bailey. The production will launch in Northampton and play for three weeks from Friday 23 February, before embarking on a UK wide tour.
Director Lucy Bailey has solid form with adaptations of Agatha Christie stories; her Olivier-award nominated version of Witness For The Prosecution is currently a hit at County Hall. She has also directed Dial M For Murder and Gaslight, so it is not entirely surprising that this touring version of Love From a Stranger is a taut and compelling thriller.
