Toronto-based producer Don Allan and veteran multidisciplined film executive Neil Sacker have closed an unprecedented equity financing agreement with the government of the Caribbean island nation of Antigua that will see $125 million committed to an initial slate of five feature films and launch Antigua's long-range commitment to film production.

As I walked into a performance of Kensington's 'Spelling Bee,' I was admittedly unnerved by the show's conspicuously simple scenic design. After all, the production literally takes place in what looks like a school gymnasium with a hastily put-together stage. Mere moments into the show, however, I realized that I had stepped into one of the most authentic, genuine, and shrewd stagings of 'Spelling Bee' to date.

Just because East Lynne Theater Company isn't currently producing shows weekly, doesn't mean the company is idle. During the winter, there are touring shows on the road, and in Cape May, the company offers Murder Mystery Weekends, lectures and workshops, and events in March sponsored by the New Jersey Theatre Alliance's (NJTA) 'Stages Festival.'
