Everyman Announces Acting Company for 2018 Season

Just weeks after winning two major awards for its 21st Century version of the 'rep' company model, the Everyman has announced actors who will form part of the Everyman Company 2018.

The Everyman Company to Explore Young Love and Transgression in ROMEO & JULIET

The Everyman Company will join with the award-winning Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) for Romeo and Juliet. Set in a world of gangs, Nick Bagnall's production reimagines Shakespeare's classic love tale for 21st Century audiences, exploring sexuality with some of the characters having their gender swapped, including Juliet who will become Julius.

Everyman Rep Brings 1980s Berlin to Present Day Liverpool in THE CONQUEST OF THE SOUTH POLE

The luminosity of 1980s Berlin is brought compellingly to present day Liverpool by the Everyman Company in The Conquest of the South Pole. Associate Director Nick Bagnall directs Manfred Karge's story of rebels who imagine themselves on Roald Amundsen's expedition in their attic. Full of inventiveness, defiance and aspiration, the spirit of this classic European text is as vital now in Brexit Britain as it was in Germany 30 years ago.   

E&P Announces First Everyman Company Season

The season of productions to be performed by the resident acting company at the Everyman has been announced. The Company will comprise of 14 actors, a team of three designers and in-house directors Gemma Bodinetz, Nick Bagnall and Matt Rutter, whilst Young Everyman Playhouse will become ever more integrated in to the company. Performing in the round, from February to June the Company will perform Fiddler on the Roof, The Conquest of the South Pole, The Story Giant, The Sum and Romeo and Juliet.

It just might be the most anticipated concert event of the year; the tickets for Tony Winner Cynthia Erivo and two-time Tony Nominee Joshua Henry's one-night-only performance of The Last Five Years sold out in less than an hour on the first day of the evening's pre-sale. With the concert, which will be performed at Town Hall, only two days away, the entire team is hard at work perfecting the piece before sharing it with the lucky few who nabbed tickets. This afternoon, Jason Robert Brown, the composer of The Last Five Years, took to Facebook to share a sneak peak of one of the orchestra's final rehearsals before the big night. Check it out below!

Cynthia Erivo and Joshua Henry to Star in Benefit Performance of THE LAST FIVE YEARS

 It was announced today Tony Award-Winner Cynthia Erivo and Tony Award nominee Joshua Henry will star in a special one-night-only benefit concert version of Jason Robert Brown's seminal musical, The Last Five Years, with the composer himself leading the orchestra. Produced by SubCulture and Jason Robert Brown, the evening will take place at Town Hall (123 West 43rd St), and 100% of the proceeds will benefit The Brady Center, the national organization determined to create a safer America by cutting gun deaths in half by 2025.

Everyman & Playhouse Announces Upcoming Collaborations

The Everyman & Playhouse will spread Liverpool's cultural name beyond the city region again this year with a series of major collaborations. Working with Shakespeare's Globe to mark the bard's 400th anniversary year the theatres will co-produce The Two Gentlemen of Verona, directed by Associate Nick Bagnall which tours nationally and internationally before dates at the Everyman. Alumnus Jonathan Pryce leads the cast of The Globe's The Merchant of Venice at the Playhouse ahead of a world tour. The theatres will also co-produce Frank McGuinness's Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme with Headlong, Abbey Theatre, Dublin and Citizens Theatre, Glasgow at the Playhouse in June ahead of a national tour.

Everyman & Playhouse Set Spring 2016 Season

The Everyman & Playhouse's 2016 spring season will feature love, loyalty, betrayal, oppression, transcendence, motherhood, brotherhood, tragedy and comedy. Gemma Bodinetz will direct a new adaptation of Madame Bovary with Peepolykus at the Everyman, while at the Playhouse there will be a major revival of Frank McGuinness's Observe the Sons of Ulster Marching Towards the Somme. There are also partnerships with National Theatre of Scotland and Told By An Idiot on I Am Thomas, and DaDaFest and Turf Love for Unsung, a new production about Liverpool radical Edward Rushton.
