New York Theatre Barn to Perform SMALL TOWN STORY Demo Concert, 9/23

New York Theatre Barn will release the new fully orchestrated demo recording of Small Town Story (formerly Speargrove Presents), a new musical commissioned by NYTB, in a concert sung by most of the demo cast and band at its signature new musical development platform NYTB in the D-Lounge on Monday, September 23, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City. The demo can be accessed online at https://soundcloud.com/nytheatrebarn/sets/small-town-story-demo starting on Tuesday, September 24.

Active Theater Announces 2013-14 Play Development Series Selections

The Active Theater (Nathaniel Shaw, Artistic Director) announced today the final selections for its 2013/2014 year-long play development series, now in its second official season: LOVELY SEND ANYWHERE, by Douglas J. Cohen, and SAM I AM, by Joshua H. Cohen.

Shakespeare on the Sound Stages AS YOU LIKE IT, Now thru 6/30

Connecticut's premier outdoor Shakespeare will present As You Like It, tonight, June 13-30, 2013. The show is one of Shakespeare's most beloved and pastoral comedies. Claire Shannon Kelly, currently the Director of Youth Programming for Shakespeare on the Sound and the director of the company's touring educational program, 'Speaking Daggers,' will direct. Kelly previously worked at the Ordway Theater, the Guthrie Theater, the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey and the George Street Playhouse. She is a resident of New Canaan.

Adam Mathias & Jonathan Monro to Present Songs from Fire Island Musical A HISTORY OF SUMMER at NYTB, 6/10

New musicals hub New York Theatre Barn will present the first New York City presentation of musical excerpts from Drama Desk Award winning book writer Adam Mathias (See Rock City) and multi-award winning composer Jonathan Monro (Variations on a Nervous Breakdown) new musical A History Of Summer on Monday, June 10, 2013 at 7:30 PM at the Daryl Roth Theatre in New York City as part of New York Theatre Barn's revolutionary new musical development platform NYTB in the D-Lounge, executive produced by Laura Brandeland Jason Najjoum.
